Here is a fun one that should create some discussion for us to make it til opening day. SEC Unfiltered did a SEC Baseball coaches ranking. The list is below. Give me your thoughts on it. I?ll have mine at the end of the list?

1 Sullivan
2 Vitello
3 Johnson
4 Corbin
5 Schloss
6 Vann Horn
7 Maineri
8 Bianco
9 Mingione
10 Lemonis
11 Wes Johnson
12 Butch Thompson
13 Skip Johnson (OU)
14 Rob Vaughn (Bama)
15 Early (A&M)
16 Jackson (Mizzu)

To me, Vitello is a clear cut 1. What he has done since he has been at UT is down right unreal. Sullivan only
Made the tournament last year cause of the name on the jersey. Then they made a run. Johnson is so so? Van Horn and Schloss have basically been the same coach. Neither can win the big one when it?s time seems like but both are outstanding coaches (Thanks Cohen you asshat) Anyway he is how I would rank them.

Vitello
Van Horn
Schloss
Corbin
Johnson
Sullivan
Lemonis
Butch
Bianco
Maineri
Wes Johnson
Skip Johnson
Mingione
Vaughn
Jackson
Early (may be really good, but has yet to coach a game. That?s makes him last. He will have an absolute loaded roster of Schloss players. Can he keep it going into next year)

Yeah... Lemonis in the middle of the pack. Seems about right.

Lemonis is too low. Who here would rather have Mike Bianco, Paul Manieri, or Nick Mingione as our head coach?

I would really hope no one.

There will be someone for Mingione. Probably nobody for the other two.

You're gonna rank Sully's entire tenure just on last year??? He's been HC at Florida for 17 seasons (16 if you leave out the cancelled covid year) and has made 9 trips to Omaha including 3 finals appearances. That's an incredible rate of success. He's also won 6 SEC titles and 2 tournament titles as well as 3 time SEC coach of the year. Placing him 6th in your ranking is insane.

Yeah I could maybe see that. Not me. A national title has to carry a good bit of weight. But unfortunately, so do last place finishes in your conference I suppose.

Lemonis won his championship with about 4 previous coaches' players. Many were absolute alpha dogs that could have won for about any coach. Since that championship he rested on his laurels (often on his bucket*) while we finished dead last for two years and didn't even make Hoover. Last year was not up to our standards, but some better. This year will tell the tale with his players at most positions. Is he a SEC coach that can keep us in the top or an ex-Indiana HC that Cohen shot off his mouth on and didn't deliver who we needed?

1. Sully (I'd take Vitello over him but a 50% CWS rate is hard to beat)
2. Vitello (best coach in the nation at the moment. Needs to sustain to get the 1 spot)
3. Corbin (was #1. Starting to slide)
4. Johnson- LSU (Another top notch year and he passes Corbin)
5. Schloss (Needs a title to avoid being Ron Polk)
6. Vann Horn Polk (modern version of Polk)
7. Lemon (Title talks. Needs another really good season to avoid sliding down)
8. Skip Johnson (has played for a title and has OU in the hunt for a big season this year)
9. Kentucky Clown Show (hard to win there. Can he continue the run they are on?)
10. Mini-Me (takes more than 1 season to be higher)
11. Bunko- (Used to be higher. Many think this is his last in a Bearfin uniform)
12. Manieri (underachieved at LSU. Has he got anymore in the tank?)
13. Butch Thompson (Tough to win there but probably should be better consistently with all the talent Georgia has)
14 Rob Vaughn (too early to tell)
15 Early (too early to tell)
16 Jackson (I dont see him doing anything at that school)
