It's really, really hard to win on the road in the SEC. And now they've done it twice just 7 games into the 18-game season.

Ask Kentucky how hard it is to win at Vandy.
We beat SCar by more than Florida and Auburn did combined. Held them to less points in 5 extra minutes than either team allowed them too.
We're a defensive identity as much as we want to be flashy offense. We can win multiple ways. It's a good sign for March. Just need to build on the offense of the first 10-15 minutes of the second half.

It is less about the result and more about how it happened. We did everything in our power to give that to SC and they just could not take it. Very poorly coached game from us, and I am a big Jans fan. But that was bad.

He can't design better plays than wide open corner 3 for Kugel, wide open wing 3 for Harris. Ball movement beats the 1-3-1 and we just didn't knock down some easy shots. Couldn't go inside against this officiating. I don't think we had but like 2 shot attempts inside the paint that we got FTs for and one was just a blatant one that we got gifted NBA continuation on.
If Jans gets blame for our offensive performance then who gets credit for our defensive performance especially on their 1st round pick and in OT?

It's the best looking team we've had since 2019 and honestly feels like way more potential than them. Take it a game at a time and be happy when we win.
We've lost 3 league games. By 5 to #6 UK who just has our number. @ #1 Auburn. @ #6 Tennessee.

You have got to be kidding! It's about the W's, not how "pretty" it was.

We played a really good overall game until the last 7 minutes of regulation where we couldn't make a shot, turned the ball over, and any time we breathed on SC it was a foul. Glad to get the win but it would have been disastrous to have choked that one away after controlling the game almost the entire way.

Exactly... we knock down those shots the comments are that we are an Elite 8 Team, give all NIL to Jans and sign Jans up for long term contract. You can't draw it up, have it work AND hit the shot too.

i will say it again, Jans is a good a coach in this entire country. all he needs is the annual talent to prove it. leave the man alone and let him do his thing, he understands the pressure and thrives in it and has a very unselfish team busting their nuts for him each game.

Two road wins looks good. Kugel not getting to play much against KY probably kept us from being undefeated at home so far. The win at Vandy keeps looking better.

Yeah.... I wonder if they think it's hard to win in Starkville***

Luckily the tournament isn't in Starkville and we're on a 1 game winning streak against them on neutral court. lol

I think Cam may be a little fatigued. He's played a lot of minutes in the last five games and his minutes aren't easy minutes.

I am usually the one harping this line, but that game was very bad. We played extremely poor, but they found a way to play worse. We have some troubling signs lately, but I do agree it's extremely hard to win on the road in the SEC. That Vandy win is looking better and better everyday.
Hubbard has to find it again or he needs to play less minutes. His impact on the court is negative if he's not a scoring threat.
Key played a great game today in Cam's absence of scoring.
Ugly win but I will take it. Huge home game coming up against Bama this week. If we can pull off a win our schedule lightens up a little on the back end. Serveral winnable games down the stretch that could land us in a 3 or 4 seed.

While I understand everything you are saying, it happens every week in College Basketball, runs happen, and teams get cold. Both happened to us today but we still found a way to win in OT on their court. That does count for something

I will take the win, obviously. But our overall trend is not a good win. We need to pick it up very soon or our season will not be what we hoped.

Winning at Memorial is always a good win. That win helping us in the Net after last couple games.

I just don't agree with that. While we've had some bad moments we all pretty much knew the SEC would be tough! We are 16-4 (4-3). We are pretty much where most thought we would be right now. I'm not saying we are playing our best basketball but what team is?

Agree. We have played very poorly 3 games in a row now. If it hadn't been USC, we lose to probably anyone else today. We got to figure some thing out.
Cam will bounce back, bad game for him. RJ too. Hub did drive more and dish a little more. Need more of that Josh and if he is smart with his 3 selection he can bounce back.
We just keep having different players step up, a really good sign.

R2, I'll ask you the same question, what team in America is hitting on all cylinders right now? It's just the grit and grind of College Basketball. I'm not overly concerned right now. I'm sure we will have more tough games this season, but I wouldn't want to play us in the tournament on a neutral court, that's for sure

I'm going to disagree as well. Joey Brackets has us as a 4 seed starting the day and we got a win. Upcoming schedule has Bama and Mizzou at home, then @Georgia and home to Fla. Go 2-2 at worst in that stretch and we are still a 4 seed. Our resume is strong right now

It's ok to really like the win while at the same time admitting we didn't perform well down the stretch. If we have that stretch this week, we probably go 0-2.
We are a good team though, and the 5 top 50 NET wins (3 on the road) proves it

OK I never said we should hit on all cylinders every game but I'm talking trends. Read my post I expect to turn it around. I've posted several times about the 96 team having a real bad losing stretch in middle of season.
Some of yall need to quit being so sensitive. I've not said anything the talking heads and experts haven't said.

Bottom line is we're in good shape but we have some issues we need to figure out. But guess what, other than 3 or maybe 4 teams in the country, that's everybody at this point in the season. Just keeping getting W's one way or the other.

At home I give some credence to how we played/looked. On the road in the SEC this year, any win is a good win, no matter how we played/looked. Hell, I might consider it a bonus if we get a win while not looking great.

After Tennessee got spanked by 30 on the road a couple weeks ago I don't question any win away from the Hump. No matter what it looks like.

After USCe took Auburn and Florida to the wire, I am not questioning another road win this year. If you win a road game in this conference, it is a hell of a win. Period. End of Discussion. You can play like crap, play incredible, or play incredibly mid. But at the end of the game, if you look up and you have more points than the other team, it's a hell of a win. I said it to start the conference slate, a road win is basically two wins this year. That's how hard it is to win on the road

I agree, it is the best team since Gordon Rhodes era. Howland had some talent too but he just couldnt do anything with it, when we had Tyson Carter, Lamar Peters, Quindarry and Nick Weatherspoon, Robert Woodard, Reggie Perry, Abdul Ado, Aric Holman etc. for those years we had talent. Its a shame that Howland couldn't do anything with those teams.
