1. LED LIGHTS!!! Looking forward to seeing them. Hoping that retrofitting was the right move and not something we regret 5 years from now. Glad they are there regardless.
2. Money being raised for an IPF!!! Not sure what the ETA is on it but it's coming.
3. Faculty has to pay a seat license now! Well it's better than nothing.
4. Price of tickets increasing. I'm good with it as long as the money is invested well in NIL and the football program as a whole.
5. The new media team is noticeably better. Looking forward to as much content as possible.
Wishlist and questions I have:
1. What is MSU doing to increase their recruiting presence in football? This has been a major issues since Sherrill left.
2. Bring back the interlocking MSU uniforms as the primary!!!!

I haven't yet read how much this costs, but did we have any night games last year? I went to all home games, but don't remember any. A mid afternoon late fall game may have bleed over into dark? Unless we're going to start using that stadium for other events, I'd probably put that money into the sound system(s) and hiring better folks to plan and operate game day ops.

Our first two home games were night games(EKU & Toledo).

We did have at least one mid afternoon game that I can recall.
We need to put money into everything- management, sound, and lights.
I think having a better environment with lights and stuff may lend itself into getting us more night games potentially.

I believe that is the Bulldog Club donation to get the seat.

Absolutely need the lights and sound system updated! Media dept. I hope is much better! But we needed to make it more affordable to attend football games not cost more... (I cant afford to attend games anymore with my family ). I hope we stay with the current script state logo! The old interlocking or MSJ helmets can be just for a throwback uni in 1 game a season for me....

Agree with everyting except the interlocking MSU. While I have great memories of the interlocking MSU teams, branding ourselves across the country as "State" is the smart marketing move. My sons and their friends all love the Script State and that's what they want on the merch we buy them. The interlocling MSU to them is "neat" but nothing more. It's like the flying M when I was growing up. My Dad loved it but it didn't mean anything to me really.
Lastely, there was a major college football twitter poll this past season, sorry, I don't recall who now, that had a twitter poll asking when you hear MSU who do you think of, Mississippi State or Michigan State? It was overwhelmelingly Michigan State. Tying our branding identity to "MSU" is a losing battle and I think administration knows that and has probably been advised so.
Just my two cents.

For some reason Cohen did his best to ruin game days at Davis wade. We haven?t recovered from it. If Keenum was worth his salt he would fix it, but he is too busy not holding others accountable and being lazy to handle it

If we want to recruit nationally, I think this is correct. I do think regionally, MSU means Mississippi State. We need to be a staple on the rankings for about 5 years. Now is the time to do that. The SEC will never be as strong as it was pre-NIL

Disagree on the interlocking MSU. I see wayyyyyyy more interlocking MSU merch amongst the young crowd than I do the Script state.

Polls are like buttholes. Who was polled? You ask anyone in SEC country and it ain't Mich St.
The youngsters like anything new and look at anything old and not good. But I've talked to lot of young people who prefer the MSU too. Smart marketing move based on what?
I just don't see data on the best move but by history, looks, etc. MSU looks the best. Bama brand helmet is old but it is linked to Bear winning. Same as MSU. Saban should have changed theirs to Bama on the helmet making the State logic.

I think the biggest change that needs to be made is the gameday layout. Starting 30 mins before kickoff all the way to the Alma mater, you can pick a time in the game and know from memory what will be happening. It has become so stale and boring.
We need to do a refresh on all of it. As part of that, don?t script out the whole damn game. Have some down time and when organic things happen from the fans: you scrap whatever you had planned.
Take a page out of banana ball as well and create a fans first mentality. I?m so not excited about going to games next year because it will be the same thing as the last 4 to 5 years.

It was a national poll. I think admin and our marketing consultants have rightly said if we want to build a national brand (not regional), State is the way to do it. I've been in the marketing business for a long time and I agree with that decision. Again, just my two cents.

Every poll I have seen regarding MSU's football uniform prefers the 1998's by a majority of 65%.
I'm not sure why MSU insists that the football uniform be the primary billboard for school branding as there are as you know other forms of advertisement.

I'm excited that our football gameday is going to look like a SEC gameday because it helps with perception and helps attract better players leading to more wins.
The lights don't get me excited. Winning the games do.

Lot of the older dawgs complained about loud music leading to not much change with sound system volume, which makes little sense, considering that there are cowbells ringing in their ear constantly all game.

Both come up. Mich st first but that is because their website is MSU.edu and real MSU is msstate.edu
We were second on the list which is pretty good since our website doesn't even have MSU in it.
Or did you see something else?

Just have the interlocking on the helmet and STATE across the front of the jersey! This is not rocket science and has been discussed before. Why do we make this so hard? We can be branded as State and still use the interlocking. Jeez.

For the "state"logo, each school has a state school. The interlocking logo is unique to us. I like both but if we're going to back something I think that it should be unique. Michigan state wore "state" stuff two years ago. Again I like the state logo and I pull for state schools as they are usually blue collar but to make our branding "state", I feel is the wrong move. Again if you're trying to separate, back something people like and is unique.

I think with MSU marketing sometimes they lose sight of WHO they are marketing to. The reality is most of the people that buy MSU things are MSU fans and alumni but the University ever since 2003 or 2004 seems absolutely hell bent on marketing nationally even if it means putting out logos that their primary consumers- MSU fans- don't like.
I think that MSU has somehow lost sight of the fact that this is "OUR" football team. And what the majority of fans want is the team to wear the 1998 uniforms with MSU on them. If they do STATE instead of MISS. STATE on the front of the jersey it needs to be in the same traditional font that the 1998 jerseys have and not the random STATE I have seen proposed.
The baseball teams has gotten this. They have never gone away from M over S even with some hideous uniforms in the 2000's and it was the absolute correct decision to not do away with it.
I think LSU has a good template for how to wear football uniforms.
For SEC home games they typically wear their most popular uniforms- white jerseys and gold pants. And yes, there are some exceptions but for the most part this is what they do. If we were to follow LSU's template our "best version" would be the 1998 uniforms.
For Non-SEC home games they typically wear purple jerseys and gold pants or this is when they bring out their alternate crazy uniforms usually. Again, yes with some exception but again in general this is what they do. For MSU if we were following their template- this is when we should wear script State helmets or alternate/black/throwback/crazy whatever uniforms.
LSU in general I think pretty much wears their white jerseys on the road and I think we could deviate a little bit here as we could have a game where we wear our "storm trooper" all white uniforms for one big game or make the all whites the primary road uniforms.

I would say yes but even beyond that. We need to get some allies on the streets as well. There are too many "advisors" in Mississippi telling kids to go out of state and it hurts us.

That's because there are an enormous amount of Alabama and LSU sidewalk fans living in Mississippi who never set foot on those campuses except maybe to attend a football game. Whereas it is highly unlikely there's very many State fans living in either of those states who didn't attend school or have children attend school at State. It's just different in that way. Not only is our State very divided by State and Ole Miss fans, we have to deal with fighting off those teams sidewalk fans from encouraging our better players to leave our State.
Probably in the Vaught/Bryant days, the loyalty was Mississippi vs. Alabama. But then State people decided to take football serious and stop being a doormat. Since then the biggest difference in our record vs our arch-rival is the Vaught 17-1-1 record against State. We will always lose the very very best to the top SEC teams. But we have been able to get that next tier to at least make us "competitive" with the middle to lower half of the conference. Until NIL and Free Agency took over.

I think that applies more to fans than handlers/agents though. Handlers/agents first allegiance is to money more than Bama or LSU.
And with Ole Miss so focused on the portal every year we have a chance to really take advantage in state if we do it right.
