Stats are very misleading. Scoring a bunch of points in up tempo games doesn?t mean you have a good offense. A good offense is do your players know how to move without the ball, know what their position is, and can you design plays to get players open looks.

We really do not run sets. Not many teams do anymore. You have 3 to 4 quick hitters but set plays are a thing of the past.

Not set plays. For example the three ball versus working the defense down low. We had much success with the latter Saturday and we seem to have abandoned it. We are not a good three team. This nonsense about shooting our way out of it is futile.

Most of the time we have driven tonight we have gotten blocked, the ball stolen, or missed a contested shot. They defend the lane extremely well.

Hubbard shot looks good when he is setup off the pass which is what he does in 2 guard. No PG is a big deal with this team.

Yet the other is the one that is tasked with touching the ball on every offensive possession.

They don't have the makeup of a team ready to spiral. I hope I'm wrong, but them fighting back against us saved them from being on the brink. If they let us blow them out late in the 1st half, then it's different feeling.

I mean if we survive the first 15 at 7-8 or better then win those 3 into the SEC tourney, you're looking at 5/6 seed line. Thats still solid. Then it's survive and advance and we'd be coming in hot like NC State last year. Positive way of looking at it.

I saw no offensive scheme against TN. Dribble around the perimeter (even the post players) and jack up a three before the clock runs out. Good teams have figured out Hubbard (put a tall guard on him & cause him to switch on "D" to attempt to guard an even taller player) and Cam (prevent him driving to the goal). Jans or staff going to have to step it up on half court offensive sets.
