If so, stop.

His problem is not weights. His problem is the SEC is better than its ever been and he is being guarded by bigger guys- making it tougher for him to get clean looks.

At least we can stop with the he is as good as Wilson was BS now. Hubb is a good college player but he's not the guy that is maybe our best shooter and one of the SEC's best shooter's in history

Well we need Jim to score this year.

Doesntt matter if he is one of the best ever.

We need points today.

Plus he scored a lot last year, and they were trying to guard him then too.

The defenses aren?t so much better this year than last.

Coach34

A) The SEC is another level from last year

B) We had an animal in the paint last year defenses sagged on to help with. We dont have that this year so fewer open looks

1) disagree

SEC got 8 teams into the Tourney last year. Right now 13 teams are projected in

I agree they are better.

They did not get so much c better try at Hubbard goes from lighting them up to can?t make anything.

Much of it is him. Not them.

I need to look up his percentages lately. I think he is shooting poorly lately.

# 2 is a great point and waaaaay more troubling.

Is our lack of consistent post scoring just allowing the D to sell out on stopping our outside shooting ? Seems like it

I agree; it's his small stature that's his biggest issue.

Hubb will play in the NBA at some point, Super D never sniffed the league.

I believe its a slump that alot of guys go through, especially sophmores, he's been short all of his life and has scored alot of points being short. He has been struggling lately but I guarantee he gets it back going.

Wilson didnt because he was 5'10- just like Hubb. We'll see on where he ends up

The Barners abused Hub last night--they shot over Him like he wasn't there. When he didn't respond by scoring we got our ass handed to Us. 5' 9" can't defend in the SEC>

If Josh can't make 3's then he obviously becomes a huge liability. I am actually wondering if he's 100%. I notice at Vandy pregame he seemed like a leg was bothering him.... just casual observation, but something just seems off.

As i haven posted before, Hubbard had a great Freshman year but now he has played against all SEC teams except OK and TX and there is now plenty of film on him. It is what it is with his height and will be up to Jans and staff to scheme to help him get open shots and not be a liability on "D" going forward. At this point, he has been figured out by opponents on "O" and "D". I dare say that he will never be guarded or defend against a SEC player his height in any remaining game. JMO.

I think it would do Hubbard some good to just get a break. Not from an actual game, but tell him to take a day and go do something he likes to do (I know bball is number one but you get the point). And then, when he is healthy, I think you start Kugel at the point and have Josh play the 2. Melendez, Cam, Murphy to round it out. Let Harris bring a spark off the bench and play with Matthews.

He's missing multiple wide open looks a game.

He's not an nba guy. Too small and doesn't shoot it or defend well enough. Better cash in at the college level.

I know with it being the NBA, some heights may be exaggerated. Still, NBA.com has only one player in the entire league under 6?.

Only 27 players in NBA history have been shorter than 6'0

He is shooting like 20something % from 3 the past 3-4 weeks. Early season he was lighting it up. Last year in spurts he was as well. When he shot the ball last year the entire gym stood knowing it was going in. Now I no its not going in.

He is missing wide open shots and not close. Defense ain't the issue.

I doubt he has time to do much weights. I didn't do much weights in season when I played, very light just for tone a little. It will mess up your shot. Weights hit hard in off season.

Agree. He looks like he isn't having fun anymore. He needs to find his love of the game again.

One other factor that also affected me when I played. Different gyms can really affect your shot. Maybe college gyms not as much but high school gyms back drop, depth perception, floor, bleachers, etc. do affect your shot from game to game.

Yeah, no he won't. The NBA doesn't take 5'10 SGs.

Only NBA player on the roster might be Kugel.

Wilson is/was better than Hubb. Wilson could score in the paint some because he was physical and drew alot of fouls. Hubb aint that guy. NBA SG's are 6'5. Hubb will be another great Miss State basketball player. I just hope his next move isnt to UConn or Duke
