Seems the method is questionable

For Example- is the viewership guaranteed for the afternoon hyped SEC game regardless of the teams? These slots accounted for 47 of 53 best rated games.

ABC 7:30 p.m. ? 13 games
ABC 3:30 p.m. ? 12 games
FOX noon ? 7 games
NBC 7:30 p.m. ? 4 games
ABC noon ? 4 games
CBS 3:30 p.m. ? 4 games

So the Jefferson Pilot 10:00 slot isn't so hot?

I?d say we need to get better fairly quickly and earn some better tv slots. Have to find ourselves in the mid 30?s range at the worst the next time realignment happens.

I am a State fan and I only watched a couple games all year and that was after I knew the score and it was recorded.

I didn't watch hardly any of the losses. I kept up with scores but watch that product? NO!!! I got way more important things to do that watch that crap.

I wonder how many 2-10 teams got better ratings. I may glance at that stat.

So I glanced at power rankings.

https://collegefootballnetwork.com/2024-college-football-power-rankings-1-134/

Only D1 teams that were as bad as 113th rated State and got better ratings were 121 Purdue and 113 OK State and 122 Florida State.

There were tons of teams better than State that got worse ratings.

Everyone talks about North Carolina being the prize? 75th in TV ratings and 67th rated team... Belichick has his work cut out for him.

Same. I?ve aged to the point where if you don?t generate a good/entertaining product my time and money goes elsewhere. I?ve found myself traveling with family a lot this year seeing the world.

Looking at Prior Years ... 2022. MSU was in the Million viewer club and ranked #36

2022 was a 4-4 SEC team (9-4 Overall) that won a Bowl Game.

Like you say, weekends are too precious to watch bad football. So people don't watch, they go do other things.

Yep. And with the current climate of collegiate sports, along with our own crap product, it is just not enjoyable for more and more people these days. Me included. Raking pine straw is more enjoyable.

This is killing a lot of poor ole narratives.

Yeah I am really struggling keeping my season tickets. I will this next year as I have a senior still at State but if the product don't get better it may be my last until it gets watchable.
