How much snow up in Starkville? Looks more than a dusting from the cameras and will it melt before tomorrow?

Asked my son what roads were like. "Not great but not aweful ". Was his response.

Big question will be if the roads dry today. If not they'll freeze tonight.

The actual weather guys can comment on that though.

We got 3-3.5" in between Starkville and Columbus. Snowed pretty hard early this morning

Melting now, good news is roads should be clear for basketball tomorrow night.

My dad is at their condo over there and said the roads are slushy but they're passable. Said they probably got around 2 inches in Starkville.

Good to be back home in Mississippi. My old home in Tennessee is getting absolutely hammered with snow right now. It's such a mess. So many wrecks. You can't leave the house without risking some asshole hitting you with a truck because they think 4WD trucks are good on snowy/icy roads.

This happens in MS too unfortunately. Happens out here in TX as well. I've never understood why people with pickups try to become professional drifters when it snows.

It's crazy. I have a truck. It's the worst of all my vehicles in winter weather. As you say, they drift all over the road before taking out a few cars then ending up in the ditch.
My favorite past time in Tennessee was to drink coffee and watch people try to stop at the stop sign at the bottom of the tall hill in my neighborhood. I would sit by my fireplace and video them and LMAO!!!

I drive a pickup 4 wheel drive truck and have no problems with driving in adverse weather. It's about driving in "safety mode", slow down and avoid danger areas.

Btw, driving a little ole 4-cylinder light ass vehicle with electric engine may be the most dangerous.***

Just any old 4 cylinder will do. Remember going backwards down hills in Alexandria VA many times in Winter.

This the link to our Skycam just west of Starkville on 182. We've had it pointed down at the road to monitor road conditions.

You can see the ice sheen sparkling in the headlight.

Y'all have the "wrong" take on 4x4 snow/ice road ridin'... It's not about maintaining control, it's the ability to drive out of the ditch when one (invariably) ends up in it....

Note: I live in a VERY low pop density area...

Well I'm sure you got plenty of propane tanks on the property to stay warm.
