Weather guys? Still too early to tell or is it just gonna be cold as hell?

Still way too early. The models are off and on developing a gulf low after the arctic air moves through which is a classic set up for snow in MS. Here are the issues.

Will the low even develop? If not, any talk of snow is moot.

If it does develop, where does it track? This is literally a detail that a track deviation of five miles determines where a location gets nothing or 6".

The first issue they can get a decent idea of 3-6 days in advance. The second issue can be a day of detail. That's why one run it'll show snow along the 82 corridor, the next run will be dry, and the next 8" on the coast. Hopefully, by early next week we'll have a better grasp on this. Right now, any talk of snow is very low confidence.
