Damn, this sucks so far. Bring back the BCS

1. 8 teams
2. No automatic bids for conference champions.
3. No non-P4 teams. Sorry, you play a high school schedule, you can't play for a P4 championship.
4. Use BCS formula to pick and seed the top 8.

Boise is trying to put up a fight. I thought they were going to get run out the stadium before halftime for a while there.

But, it's still pretty obvious Penn State is the better team.

Really Clark?

Boise is still a lot better than SMU or Indiana and ASU is too. 12 teams is too many and going to 8 would be best

They dont care if the games are competitive or not. They have extra games on TV making money and creating value.

The playoff will only expand from here- not contract. This is about TV money games making bank. 16 teams is probably the next move

If they had taken 16 teams and fixed the seeding, there would have been some good games. Or even under the current format if they'd taken Alabama over SMU.

All day. This thing is a cash grab from the kick. Will only expand from here and the talking heads will jam it down our throats about how 17ing wonderful it all is.

CFB expanded the playoffs and somehow made the product unwatchable. Hey you idiots, if you're dead set on automatic bids, at least don't give them byes with high seeds

But it also gives us a chance. An MSU, Arkansas, Baylor, NC State type program can have one of those once every 10-15 year seasons where we could go 10-2 and get into the playoffs and hang that banner that can help you recruit for a decade.

Missouri is experiencing that right now and just got unlucky that their window for that opportunity hit last year instead of this one.

If the goal is having a format to produce the most competitive games then they should do this:

Do away with auto seeds, byes and home fields and the games will be legit. Home field in NFL is fine because the talent gap is minimal. Home field in college is way too big an advantage.

16 teams seeded 1-16

1st round- 8 games (Reliaquest, Citrus, Texas, Gator, Outback, Las Vegas, Alamo)

2nd round- 4 games (Peach, Cotton, Orange, Fiesta)

3rd round- 2 games (Rose and Sugar)

4th round- CFP championship

If the priority is money and getting the most eyeballs on the product this is the answer.

Horrible idea. It's GOOD that homefield advantage exists so that teams who had the better regular season have an easier road to the championship. It should be higher seed hosting in every round except for the championship. No more bowls in a perfect world.

This Peach Bowl has been very entertaining, and last night's game was better than the score implies.

Not if the goal is having competitive games. I get my scenario will never happen but should if you are trying to get the most intriguing competitive games.

It is why March Madness is the best tournament of any sport hands down because it strips away all the bullshit and makes you prove it on the court.

And they would have the easier path because they would be playing the worst team the higher the seed they are

Teams can win on the road. It didn't happen this year, but with a slightly different bracket it easily could have. We'll see it some years, and in others it will be only home teams winning. I'm OK with that.

And just like that... no change should happen to this format outside of expansion and giving every conference winner a guaranteed ticket. 24 teams is the right volume for 130 imo. And no one can ever complain again that they were unfairly excluded. Idc if it means a few more dud games. You might get a game like this. More football is fun. This is why you play the games.

I remember HomeDawg saying ASU wasn?t any good after our game and Cooter saying Skattebo sucks also after our game. This team is fun to watch. Because **** texsa. Pretty simple concept.

If you're a neutral having david vs. goliath is much more appealing instead of having to root between texsa and anOSU (or oregon if they wake up). But even throwing that aside, texsa and what they stand for sucks. Yall thought bama refs were bad... today was a small taste.

Ryan Day is going to win a national championship and Ohio State fans will still hate him for losing 4 in a row to Michigan. And Penn State will fire Franklin for losing in the championship to Ohio State.
And the Big Ten will change their slogan to "It just means even more".

It goes beyond football. Texas (the state) is what Mississippi (the state) could be if we hadn't spent the last 200 years with an inferiority complex.

I think that's what most of us want and we now know this current system is better than the 4 team playoff. Maybe they tweak it some by seeding but I think the 4 teams left (I think ND beats UGA but if UGA wins without Beck that will be impressive) will be the 4 best teams.

I'm spelling it correctly you're spelling it wrong.

https://abc13.com/university-of-texas-tu-oklahoma-typo/220087/

But really it goes back further than that. I've always been told to spell it texsa that even my autocorrect corrects it to that version. It's just a rivalry thing. Part of my circle is OU people. Texsa is my second most hated school. They're OM if OM was who OM thinks OM is. See profile pic for more information.
