At the time of this post, Bama's average starting position was the 25.... so Mich was starting closer to the Bama goal line than Bama was.

Milroe is a helluva of an athlete but he is still just an athlete playing QB and against equal or better talent, he should just make the first read and if it isn't there, immediately tuck and run.
