Midweek games are still going to have to rely on local attendees within an hour drive. I still suspect late Saturday games are also going to need those same local fans. Definitely a season when they need to turn loose the students if ticket holders aren't in their seats 5 minutes into the game. Get there in time, or put someone in your seats. or get your seats filled with students

Here's the thing, with as tough as the SEC will be this year, we need to possibly go undefeated at home. Because there won't be too many road wins out there. We will probably be the underdog in all but 3-4 road games.

This is where the university needs to be working the phones and emails to ticket holders who do not normally show for every game and make sure seats are full. Cant be at the game? Donate back to the university and let someone fill your seat. Need the Hump jumping like the old days with a full to the rafters crowd.

I would have no problem with 1 home SEC game in early January being 8000 students wearing the same shirt strong, jumping around and making noise?

Great idea!
Two hour drive for some who attend. Five minute window after tipoff to grab your seats is a little extreme.

You?re right.
I would make it half way into first half.
Half way through the first half if you?re not there, all seats are open.

This needs to happen so badly! I am so sick of seeing the empty seats in the lower bowl of the Hump! Geesh let somebody sit there and make noise. It’s those fans that buy up premium seats and show up for two games a year like the Kentucky/Bama or Tennessee/Texas or some big game and that’s it. Also so tired of our fans sitting there acting like they are watching bowling. Basketball is a spectator sport where the fans give the home team advantage and energy. Not sit there like they are at a funeral. If it wasn’t so far a drive for me I’d be at every game. We have a competitive team now let’s act like it!

My brother has faculty seating and the amount of people that scream for us to sit down is embarrassing. And we don't stand the entire time.
And it's definitely not exclusive to the faculty section. I watch people all around who sit for the entire game.

I’m not quite a blue hair, but grey/white. What’s wrong with sitting? I can shout as loud standing or sitting! Does standing make you more cool or a better fan? Besides I paid for a seat not a place to stand!

Not a venue on campus that's more fun to attend than the Hump when it's truly rocking.

So we have fans who will drive 2 hours one way who don't have a problem missing the first 10-15 minutes of 40 total minutes of playing time, but cannot find a way to be there for Tip? Come on man. Put those tickets in someone closer hands or get them to someone that can get there before the ball is tipped. TV is your friend!

I'm grey headed and not saying I'm a better fan. Just saying that people should have the expectation that people may stand at a college athletic event.
And teams thrive on it. They actually gesture for fans to stand.

A team like this, following a football season like that? The Hump will be the best it has been since 2004

Need to have a student waitlist. After all student tickets are gone, then students on the waitlist can receive tickets donated back to the university. Thus butts in all the seats and a loud atmosphere.

I actually like that idea, I just don't know how many students get turned away at the gate. I really just think the university needs to figure out a way to send out a text 36 hours before tip, reply 1 to confirm you are coming and 2 if you're not, and if you're not coming you have the option to donate your tickets back to the university and you can get like .1 BC points or something(nothing so advantageous that people would just buy tickets to sell them and get the points). That way you can know 12 or so hours before tip that you have 350 tickets that opened up and you can sell them to the general public or say you have to be in line at the willcall 3 hours before tip. What you get is what you get. It's just luck of the draw as far as what's left.
