That doesn't make any sense.

Thats what people told Einstein. I'm only kidding.

Though i would try to take LBs and turn them into DLs.

What's next? Just turn an OT into a WR because they have to have good hands and footwork? Just lose 50 lbs? Then Hevesy ain't gotta teach em how to block?

Yeah just put on 50 pounds of muscle in half a year  . 10-15 would be a crazy amount of effort much less 50. Unless the kids are just starved. Just chewin gum and kicking rocks

Year 1 redshirt
year 2 barely plays anyway
year 3 - 50 lbs heavier and now worth $750k

For everyone who thinks this is stupid, I believe this is literally the story of Fletcher Cox.

Really Clark?

Fletcher was recruited as a DE with the knowledge because of his build that he would grow into a DT most likely. Chris Jones was the same and did it before he stepped on campus. But both of those happened naturally not by us trying to put 50 lbs on them as soon as they stepped on campus. That is a huge difference and understanding their frames would allow for it.

Clark - you are right. I do think it is something to look for. I am sure everyone is loookg got that already.

It should be some of n we especially look for given how valuable DTs are.

We need a Center Bad! Put 60 lbs of muscle on both our long snappers and we cover 4 positions with 2 players!😎

That doesn't make any sense.

This is actually old school.

JJ Watt was a 220 lb player in HS

So was Montez Sweat 6'6" 220 lbs

Just to make fun, Jared Lorenzen gained 50lbs from Freshman to Senior at Kentucky

It?s funny to Me that people act like this is dumb.

It?s the story of a lot of greats. It also makes perfect sense.

We just signed a 6?8 tight end. Can he play DL? He?d be waaaay more
Valuable there if he is ANY good at all.

His value at TE is minimal.

It?s not dumb in the context of it could and has happened, it?s more so that is crazy to think you can just take LBs, make them add weigh, and be good at DT in the SEC. You most likely just end up with multiple fat slow LBs who can?t play anywhere

Rest assured that 50lbs on Lorenzen was all fat. Maybe via KY bourbon.

Agree but I?m just making comments on a message board.

Maybe I should have clarified that this would not work with every LB.
