Based on stuff I am reading it will take State about $20,000,000 per year each year to be somewhat completive in the SEC. So, after 5 years the dawgs supporters will spend $100,000,000. Where the <17> is this level of Coine sustainable. And what is the ROI just to say Ha-ha we beat you.

And how many fans are willing to fork over that level of money just to be somewhat competitive? That's a lot of money to only be somewhat guaranteed a 6-8 win season every year.

This is where the break will happen. There are those that will continue to support it and those will have to opt out.

Yep, the whole system is totally asinine. No rules in place so players just keep extorting for more and more money. They agree to a deal one day and the next day they decide no, I gotta have more. If the NFL operated this way, the whole thing would go belly up. I really just feel like my NIL contribution is throwing money down a rat hole because there is no way we can keep up with elite SEC programs from a pure money standpoint. Just don't have enough rich boosters willing to win at any cost.

The majority of the money for all schools comes from a smaller cohort of very wealthy people. It's hard to fathom spending money on this yearly with the way the economy is.
I think this is where the revenue sharing is going to have to start making a difference. I can't believe they let the cat out of the bag like this and allowed "collectives" and free agency get out of control. It was never supposed to be designed this way.

Starting in July 2025, that 20 million will not come from fan donations. It will come from the school and will be a line item in the budget. That's what the House settlement and revenue sharing is all about.

My biggest problem is I can't figure out the business model for the university. I saw something on the internet that MSU Football brought in just over $40 million in revenue with $29 million in expenses. Meaning they made $11 million profit (not sure what year this was referring to). Anyway, I'm assuming expenses doesn't include the cost of player acquisition (NIL). So my question is how does acquiring better players effect profit? Winning? How does winning improve profit and by how much? More butts in the seats? More merchandise sales? What is the cost of customer acquisition?
I'm guess I'm asking how big is the incentive for the University to win more games?

That's why when the Yella Wood people (or donors like them) see an Arnold beat Alabama, they say get him at any cost. And Freeze and Cohen comply with smiles on their faces. They need those donations to continue.

That settlement is all for former players in all sports from the way it was explained to me.

Yep, but that will be the standard for all of P4. NIL will still be there.
We are going to have to spend smarter than everyone else. Probably need to carry a 50 man paid roster so we can pay more to the difference makers.

There will be some nil stiff still there. Remains to be seen how much. Most of the revenue sharing money will got to football and then to basketball, so baseball will see a lot of nil collective money.
