cancer finally got J C Patton. If you didn't know him you missed out great guy and real dawg.

Lost another one last week. Buddy Weir of Gulfport. Walked on at State in the mid 60s/

I hadn't seen JC in a long time (used to run into him at the Veranda quite frequently) but yes he was a very good man. Reading his obituary and coming across this "An extrovert who never met a stranger..." made me think of a story somebody told me about him. I was told that he was on one of those MSU alumni trips overseas and while in Istanbul, he just randomly stumbled across somebody he knew at a street market there. The person who told me this said they were not shocked at all.

JC Patton was a great bulldog, but he was a greater human being. God bless you brother!
