Dak proved that if you have a QB you can win.
Tell me About Taylor. I know nothing,

Referee friend that has been working this state for ages said he is the best athlete he's seen play in this state since David Fair. Can really play but is very raw and will need a year or two to be developed. But the potential is unlimited.

My son played against him this year. The game was brutal. If he wanted a TD he got one. Sometimes he just went for a first down to keep the clock running. Dude was unstoppable. At the time I had no idea who he was so it’s neat that he signed with State.

I think he and his family knows he needs some development and he really likes Lebby a lot. He will be well taken care of but now we need to surround him with talent.

Need him to play in 4 games next year and redshirt for development.

Have there been any Freeze sightings around?? Lane only goes after USC 2nd stringers and they also have their next QB on the sidelines who we might see in their Bowl Game. I played against Reggie Collier in HS and he was like that and he got better in College just ask the early 80s guys.

This is not as big a thing as it once was. I would not RS anyone unless they weren't the best player in that position. Then if he is 2nd best, I may watch it but never not play him if it could help us this year. Why?
I would not save a year of eligibility just to transfer unless it didn't hurt me now?

He is omarr's nephew---His brother is also a player-we offered him also-he is a Junior. KT is better than MV right now. He is 6'4" 220--has arm-size-speed-and football sense. Led Noxubee to win last week vs undefeated Magee -Magee was up 32-16 with -5-6 minutes left in the game--KT led them back and won 36-34. he was rated #1 at every National camp be attended last summer.

He might play in every game--I talked to JUCO head Coach that said He is better than MV now. He coached Kelly and others at Scooba--He knows QBs.

He looks arm/leg/body talented on film. Everyone in the SEC is talented like that too though. He'll need to show more going through progressions and reading a defense to become more than KJ Jefferson / 2014 Dak / Jaxson Dart. If he doesn't, that's still a great college player ceiling. But if he wants to track to be Cam Newton he will need to take the same leap at some point that 2014 -> 2015 Dak took. That leap gets him into the NFL.
Ideal scenario for us and him.
Jackson Arnold works out and starts next year for us or MVB stays and takes a leap. He gets on SEC S&C and reaches his physical potential. 2026 is spent fine tuning and turning him into a cerebral QB while Arnold/MVB take us to 9+ wins. 2027 is unleashing him, making playoffs, him being drafted top 10.
That's the path for Lebby's success. Talk ask and writing it out is more simple than doing it. But that's what Lebby's plan should be.

He's big, athletic, and talented. i watched him make throws i've never seen from a HS quarterback. definitely raw.

If we can pick up Jackson Arnold that would be huge, although I think if UGA wants him they will probably get him.

He doesn't look raw to me. He will have to improve his footwork and adjust to the college game but he is an extremely accurate passer. I just watched him in the state championship game and I'm really impressed. He's Byron Leftwich at worst.

The only knock I see in Taylor’s game in limited film review is his wind up. He has a long wind up where he dips the ball around his waist before throwing. It can cost you around a tenth of a second in your throw motion. Not only does it cost you time, but if you take a blind side, the ball is more vulnerable to a fumble if it’s around the waist. That could be the difference in a strip sack or completion. He can probably get away with it in college given his other attributes.
The classic example of this is Tim Tebow. Classic long wind up. Got away with it in college but cost him in the pros. Compare that to Peyton manning who was not a plus athlete but he had the quickest release in the league when he played.

I saw that too and agree. Like you said wont matter one bit in college but no reason not to coach it out of him now

Say what? Dude has a short arm motion and a quick release. Funny how 2 people can watch the same thing and see something totally different.

We don't have to worry about how he performs in the Pros. How he performs in the "Semi-pros" called the SEC is of more concern!

He seems to do it less on the move. Might be brain taking over and just balling vs when he is in the pocket

I respectfully disagree. He has a prolonged wind up. I really can’t find anything else to knock on him though. He has the potential to be cam newton.
My biggest concern and where I think he will have to develop the most is when he has to face the complex coverage schemes he will see in the SEC.

Dak Prescott was still raw in 2014 while he took us to #1. Dak didn't look polished until 2015. If you give us 2015 Dak on 2014 State then we beat Bama, hopefully Geoff and Dan take the chance to win a Natty seriously and win the Egg Bowl and we're 13-0 playing in the playoff against FSU. We'd have exposed that team and made the Champ game something w/ anOSU.

Being a great athlete is a lot different than being a great QB. He looks crazy athletic but watching some videos he does not seem smooth at all, especially throwing. Hope I am wrong but I am scared his insane athleticism will not translate to being a successful passing QB. He seems almost too raw and nothing from taking snaps, his throwing motion or his 3-5-7 step drops looks comfortable or smooth at all. He seems to have real accuracy issues as well.

Why do you think I said he will need time to be developed? He needs a lot of work but you can't coach talent into a player and he has an abundance of that.
His high school coach allowed him to utilize his athleticism too much. I?ve said this before, but outside of doing 7 on 7 with Wyatt Davis, he has not had any proper QB coaching to this point. Jeff Lebby will get the footwork and other nuances of playing QB fixed. It will take some time. He?s not ready to play as a freshman outside of some packages. He may not be ready by 2026. However, he will be a monster in 2027.

Whatever issues he has, a long wind up and release isn't one of them. At least not in those highlights. The ball never gets below his ribs.
He'll be fine.

I watched him close yesterday as he moved in the pocket and quickly released and threw. He appeared to hold the ball up fairly high up until release. He did drop the hand when scrambling. I think he is a taller lamar jackson who is cam newton physical.

he had a high ankle sprain -couldn't run much . KT was rated #1 at every national camp last summer--he went to several. Wr didn't make tough catch to tie the game. same play that beat Magee.

Wow! I hate that David Fair blew out his knee during his FR year. Dude was a beast. I was probably 8 at the time but the dude looked 6-4, 230 and ran a 4.4
