Keep Hutzler or replace him, does not matter for 2025.

Look at the schedule.

Doubtful that we see an SEC win at home with GA, TEX, TN, OM...and then toss-ups (or what used to be toss-ups back when we were competitive) are on the road.

I do enjoy the heavy weights that the SEC schedules for us.

Is Selmon not confident enough or care enough to advocate on our behalf?

Can we let the portal and the coaching carousel play out before we announce that the sky is falling?

I agree we had a really bad year, even for MSU, but give it some time to see how the administration responds.

This his correct. The ceiling likely is 6-6 (4 noncon, Mississippi at home, one of Mizzou/Ark/Aggie/Fla on the road).

2026 the schedule flips.

I think the ceiling, if you upgrade correctly, is 7-8 wins. Mizzou and Arky will both be down out of all likelihood next year. I want to see what Tennessee brings in to replace that D Line and replace what they're losing at the WR position and RB position.

Again, that's if you upgrade correctly

After listening to Hadad and Falke I hope that we win 2 again.

6-6 will be a very good coaching job, we host the confederates and 3 playoff teams at home in conference play. No favors from the league for sure.

Fan boy media might be the worst thing to ever happen, both the for and against garbage.

Every non-elite program in the power conferences except us loves the portal and NIL because it's letting them finally start competing. What are we not doing that everyone else is?

Keeping a coach. We lead the P4 coaching changes since 2017. 5 head coaches in 8 seasons will kill a non elite program.

Playing from behind as usual. Reacting to the situation instead of being proactive. 1 bad AD and 4 coaches in six years puts you behind.

I think most of us would be elated with 6-6 after what we went through this year. We are dealing with SO much inexperience relative to our AD and football staff that its a joke. AD, Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator all bumbling around trying to figure out their jobs on the fly because they have never done their jobs before. To be as bad as we were this season you have to have a lack of talent AND lack of coaching.

I mean, it's got to be better to change coaches than keep a bad one, right? How often does keeping a bad coach in the name of "stability" work out for a program?

2 of those 5 were great coaches.
1 meh and 1 bad.
Verdict out on the 5th.

But his question was about why we aren't acquiring talent through the portal like other non elite programs. A complete lack of continuity makes that difficult.

Really Clark?

It's tricky but you have to believe in what they are doing running the program as a whole. But if you go through too many too soon it will have a negative impact on the entire program no matter what. From your pool of coaches to choose from, recruiting, fan support, monies, etc. Beamer and Lea were kept because of stability and the AD's believed in what they were doing. It paid off this year. A lot of times it doesn't but we are at a point that we desperately need stability for 2 more years at a min. Another 2-10 or worse year next year though and we will really be in a very bad position of still not needing another coaching search but a complete dumpster fire of instability will have set in regardless.

I agree in large part, but from what I saw the DOGS were one play action pass from the one from being a 3 point game with the best team Mississippi Money can buy. I just hope Lebby went home thinking about how to beat them next year.......
