as his band of raucous scallywags invade the erector set arena constructed on a lovely plantation in the village of Oxford to battle with the Confederate troops of Mississippi. Neckbeard the Conqueror draws up a swift and precise battle plan that is executed to perfection as he emerges victorious 28-17. Book it!!

Saying our defense will hold anybody to 17 points is proof you've been drinking since last night.

I do not know what is more unrealistic here. Our offense scoring 28 on a D that has only allowed one team to score over 28 in regulation this season, or that our D who has only held one team under 20 all year, will only give up 17

Nick Saban couldn't take this team to Oxford and win that game. It's gonna be a bloodbath.

It's going to be a legend alright. A legendary ass whipping we are going to get from the Confederates.

He could take this team to Oxford and I would still lay the points and take UM.

Saban would look at this team and fire himself first.

Me too I am obviously going to watch but at this point I accepted 2-10 along time ago after the Toledo blowout

Does anyone think Lebby will get rid of this no brain DC? I sure hope so, we all know there is no talent, but there is no coaching at all. Its embarrassing. If he don't fire him, I'm done with Lebby, and he should know thousands of fans will call for his head. Plus lose his reputation in the college world.

I look at this as a win/win. If he keeps this DC and this atrocity of a defense continues into 25, then the decision to start over with a new staff is clear and near unanimous. If he gets rid of him now, he buys himself a little more time, especially with improvement next year on defense.

I am really interested in this from the people who want to fire Hutzler no matter what? Do you think another DC could have done anything different with the players we have? I mean I think we all agree we have no talent so if we have no talent and the staff has been here less than a year, then how is it solely coaching?

I think it's both. talent and coaching. But these young men been playing all their lives and know their responsibilities. All year long in 11 games now there has been way to many boneheaded plays that kills the game. So a proven DC, I think will make a huge difference.

It?s from watching us get gashed by a running back from ASU and refusing to stack the box. It?s from watching Toledo run up the score on us at home. It?s from watching receivers run wide open all year long without a DB even remotely close.
We clearly have talent issues, but we also have a defensive staff that has our guys unprepared and out of position

Dude, this team couldn?t play dead in a John Wayne movie. Put the gummies away and lay down for a while, it will be okay.

The nepotism is too strong at State right now for the football program to survive. That and apathy from fans being asked to pay for players food tickets concession gas and we dont even have speakers that work or logos we care about

What nepotism, specifically?

It goes both ways as in a good DC can cover some of the talent issue and good talent can cover up bad coaching. Right now, I don?t know if he can recruit or not but right now, the defense can?t stop anybody and out of position a lot.

Here's another hot take. Peter Sirmon is a good DC. We had really bad talent in 2016. Not near as bad as 2024. But bad.

I was just watching espn and they were showing a preview of the game and showing where our team was walking into the stadium through all the fans in their polos and jackets. I swear to God you could barely tell the difference.
Remember how big and mean Mullen teams looked? We looked good getting off the bus. What I just saw was really sad. It looked like a bus full of fat Sigma Chi.

I think the only option if we want success is to leave this coaching staff alone and grow the continuity with the players.
No one wants to hear this but our realistic goal to get the program back on track should be 6 wins in 2026. We have to stay the course and understand the uphill battle we have.

Trust me I am not hopeful. But that needs to be the goal at least
