We've got money, we've just got to convince kids to take it.

This. Hope this "staff" can evaluate properly, sell a vision (plenty of immediate playing time is available), select the right scheme on "D", and coach them up!

We aren’t poor. But we don’t spend effectively and efficiently. We are run like a government. We need to be run like a business. There is a lot of fat that can be trimmed. That leads to more available revenue to spend where it is really effective.

It’s like Elon Musk is preaching about the federal government. It is all bloated with payroll, inefficient business practices, etc. Universities across this country are very inefficient when it comes to spending.

He is a project. Only played football for one year. 6’8” that needs a red shirt year or two. He could develop. He has the frame and is an athlete.

Really? On 24/7 he's not rated? See here (https://247sports.com/player/breyden-turnage-46153584/)
On Rivals he's a 2 star. Hard to rank a kid that's only played football a year and was 250 lbs last year and there was no tape to see. Kid is 285 lbs now and three sport athlete. He's a steal! Will need to RS but that's fine with Juco/portal kids coming in this year. Kid is a really good athlete.

Why does it show his ranking as an 82 next to his name and profile but it's 89 under that? Genuinely curious, have they not updated it maybe? Those numbers match on other recruits, for example here is Bryce Underwood (https://www.on3.com/db/bryce-underwood-15949/) showing a 99 in both locations.

That 82 is the "composite". Their ranking is an 89. The other services haven't evaluated him yet.

I like Turnage. If he develops he could be a really good tackle. These recruiting services have no clue how to rate offensive linemen. It's very much a developmental position.

Ha, if that example doesn't prove that I don't know what does. One has him at 89, one is a "5.4" and two didn't bother rating!

I didn't say he hadn't given us anything. I did he wasn't the 3 or 8. They've tried to get him to be a part of a major project. I don't know where that stands. And I don't begrudge him if he doesn't. It's his money.

I keep hearing this, and I don?t not believe it, but I would love to know what this means relatively. Are we talking $10M vs SEC average of $25M cause that?s huge. Or are we talking $10M vs SEC average of 12.5M because that is still very competitive.

You know what, believing is easy, knowing is hard. If you took one trip to UGA, AU, Tenn, Tx A$M and took one peak behind the curtain your beliefs would be out the window. I travel each year to conference institutions for an in depth conference on what we do and how things we do are done by each school. Our funding and the difference in the big boys in our league and us is staggering. Hell the staffing levels alone are hard to comprehend. We have less than 50 for 1200 acres, the Bammers and UGA are over 100 and A$M is just stupid. That said we are and always will be playing from behind and doing more with less and we proudly do it every day.

Our NIL isn't. Overall, yes, from a budget standpoint. You guys can keep trying to say this stuff but NIL is where it matters and we're more than competitive with the majority of the conference.

Not wrong, but NIL is not the whole picture either. The entire thing has to one homogeneous machine working together and right now that ain?t us.

I can?t give you exact numbers, I would guess that we operate at about 50% less than most of our counterparts, but what I can correlate is that the numbers that are available for my staffing and materials to work and what these other schools are able to do with this staffing etc. blows us away. UGA is able to have an entire department for recycling. Where this comes into play is that they are able up compost and produce their own soils for bed mixes and other projects. That is huge expense only affordable to them because of the gigantic budget differences. This is all on just the landscape side of things, now take that experience and apply that over the entire institution and it?s easy to see where we stack up with our league. A&M is ugly but the $$ they are able to spend are amazing. They just spent upwards of 20 million on the big park area next to football stadium. I don?t ever see that happening with us.

NIL is what gets you players along with winning games. Players don't care about much else beyond reaching the league. We've seen large donations the last year of a combined about $31MM. That's just one year...stop with the poor talk. We're competing where we need to right now. It would be more accurate to say we're a cheap fanbase than a poor one. We just got approval on an IPF too. Things are moving.

Overall in the college football world our NIL is probably decent. The problem is that in the SEC decent isn’t enough. We need to keep giving as much as we can if we want to see a winning product on the field.

Exactly, so what?s the point in bitching about all of this. We will NEVER have the funds the other schools have. So we find a way or we whine and quit.
These scenarios were setup decades if not - century ago.
