Clements named popped up for Lebby?s staff when Lebby was hired. Collins defense was bad but he is experience and can sell something. Collins would be an upgrade but I think Hutzler stays.

I have a friend that's a big UNC fan and he told me early in the season Mack Brown said something about retiring but then a couple of days later claimed he never said that. Sounds like it became a mess after that.

Now I do want to clarify, I don't think we'd look at Collins as DC, but for an analyst role. Wouldn't rule out DC because he has fielded pretty good defenses over the years, but I doubt we'd go that route.

I just don't know with Geoff. Guy can be a hell of a recruiter if he still has the juice, had us in the game with Marlon Humphrey and had Mackensie Alexander signed until Clemson swooped in at the 11th hour. His defenses have slipped since he left Florida. Maybe that was being a HC and not being as involved in the D though.

DJ probably will go where the money is. If someone wants to pony up and pay 1.5 then he'll go. He and Hugh are an arranged marriage right now. Hugh doesn't like not having his guys around him. He may stick with Durkin, but it's not because he wants to. In a perfect world, Bama would fire Kane Wommack and he could get him. Freeze wants guys that are loyal to Freeze. If he thought he could pull Dave Wommack out of retirement he'd do it.

I was reading the 247 UNC site, and they had the early names to watch.
In no order:
1. Sumrall
2. Georgia DC
3. The Smith kid of Fedex that played at UNC and coaching pros (NIL money there).
4. Kitchens
