We snuck into the week 4 AP poll at #25.

According to previous results, we will now lose to UNLV and drop out of even receiving any votes in next rankings. We will then beat Pittsburgh and win the next 5 games but voters will not give us the benefit of the doubt going forward because they will remember the loss to UNLV. Is that about right?

I think we need to take advantage of the ranking and string as many wins in a row to start as we can. The longer more people see our name with a number beside the more respect and benefit we will get come selection time. Will be hard once conference play starts because so many SEC teams are good. Could have a great team and still likely go 10-8.

This definitely has been our pattern. Hopefully they won't repeat

MoreCowbell you have definitely been around the program enough. You said the script for the future of men’s BB exactly correct. Hope you are wrong but past sez you correct.

I guess I am jaded of 40+yrs of watching this theme play out. But yes Jans has got a very good squad and Hubbard is an ultra bright star. He reminds me of Jeff Malone.

Jans is a very good floor coach. I like where he is giving players a chance to see how they perform in game situations. He is as good of floor coach we have had in a long time. Now it seems he is a good recruiter, no doubt he is building us a good program.

Memphis beat UConn to stay undefeated. That road game to Memphis will be very tough, but it will be a good NET game

Strange. Think we had votes last week in the Coaches poll but not in the AP. So strange we made the AP but not the Coaches.

We have a few tough games left on the pre-conference schedule. UNLV, Pitt, Memphis are all tough games, McNeese isn't a gimmie game either, their record isn't as good as last year (they went 30-4) but Alabama only beat them by 8 points this season, they are scrappy. I hope we can win all four of those and its possible but, at worse if we go 3-1 or 2-2 I'd feel pretty good heading into SEC play.

We need tough games and also as many 2 day tourneys as possible before the real season begins.

We will also play either Butler or NW. If the SEC is as good as it was last year, we will end the year with a top 10-15 schedule, and we will have plenty of opportunities for big wins.

You are obviously young. And for your other post, what does the other MSU have to do with this thread? Because they beat us in the 1st round last year?

I'm 43 years old and have been around this board for 5 years and several older boards you probably haven't even heard of for years beyond that. The point I was making was Memphis beat #2 UCONN a couple nights ago, then beat Michigan State last night. They play Auburn tonight for the championship. We will play Memphis in a few weeks so all I was saying was we have a tough game on our hands and they look really good.

FYI when it comes to MSU basketball you can't hold my jock strap. I don't know if Ive ever even seen you in basketball threads so don't ever come at me again with some BS! Hell to be honest with you I don't even know what point you were trying to make you with your post anyway! I'll go toe to toe with you any day of the week when it comes to State basketball so do a little research before you post
