It's the biggest game to date in Kiffin's career. If they win they're playoff bound. Can he handle the pressure?

I'm still not convinced they are a lock with 2'lossss. Those 2 losses are really bad losses now.

From the beginning, I thought that Sunbelt Billy would do better than BK. Obviously that didn't pan out for their first two seasons, but in the long run, that may turn out to be true.

I don't think so. The UK loss already looked bad and LSU is looking more and more like they're imploding and may have 5 losses. Just looking at the contenders right now you have:
Texas: 9-1 (5-1 conference). Best win is @Vandy. No bad losses
A&M: 8-2 (5-1 conference). Best win is probably Mizzou or LSU at home. No bad losses
Tennessee: 8-2 (5-2 conference). Best win is Bama. Bad loss is @Arky
UGA: 8-2 (6-2 conference). Best wins are Clemson, @TX, Tenn. No bad losses
Bama: 8-2 (4-2 conference). Best wins are UGA and USCe. No bad losses since Vandy is much improved
OM: 8-2 (4-2 conference). Best wins are UGA and @USCe. Bad loss is UK and LSU could end up one as well
That's 6 teams for 4 spots. A&M beating TX would vault them above OM and TN. Any of these teams is also out with another loss outside of TX. It's probably going to come down to who does the committee like more, TN or OM. It'll be very interesting to see where the committee ranks TN tomorrow night. I've been of the believe since it happened that the UK loss would keep OM out of the playoff. A lot of this will also have to do with who gets in the SEC championship. People also need to remember that the Big 12 champion is going to end up knocking someone out of the playoff. There's still a lot of scenarios where OM is left out of the playoff.

If they beat Florida, the only 2 teams that can keep Ole Miss from having a home playoff game are Mississippi State and Ole Miss. a miracle win for State or a total collapse by the Bears in Oxford the day after Thanksgiving! So the most assured way they don't go at all is a loss to The Fighting Tom Pettys! A win over Florida in the swamp would bump the Bears to at least 8 and that is a host spot.

A win against a 5 win Florida team would not move the needle that much. They will out of all likelihood be 10 when the rankings come out and I do not see them leap frogging anyone. Like I have said, it will be interesting to see what the committee does with Tennessee and UGA. Does UGA leapfrog OM? Does OM leapfrog Tennessee and stay in front of UGA? How does the committee view Kentucky? TN wipes the floor with them at home, UGA eeks by them on the road, and OM loses at home.

If OM has a struggle win against the Gators it will not help them much in the playoff outlook.
And this is the time of year Lane's name is being shopped. If he's had some back channel offers already his foot will be off the gas.

The only back channel offers he would be getting right now is in the NFL. I doubt we see a big time program make a move this year. LSU or FSU could say F it and pay 60 million buyouts but I doubt they go that route.

If it's true the Saints are seriously looking at him we'll see how well he coaches against Florida. When he was supposedly on the short list for Miami he phoned in the last two games.

There's some truth there. How much? Not sure. The views of Kiffin vary wildly in NFL circles. Some see him as a Sean Payton clone and others still can't get past the Oakland experiment, which was doomed from Day 1. They saddled him with a bust of a QB who was labeled as a Franchise QB, an aging roster, and an insane owner. Kiffin's immaturity obviously didn't help him at the time but he's older now. I've always kind of thought his next move was the NFL and not college. I do think the Saints will at the very least interview him. The one big wrench with Kiffin and the Saints is Archie. He still has some pull in that city and he does not like Kiffin AT ALL.

A month ago, would have said no chance but UF has a competitive team and in Gainsville. They have a punchers chance. That said UGA and USC both laid eggs on OM. Then a sorry UK and so so LSU beat them? UF if better than UK and LSU.

Its going to be glorious.

This is the correct answer. They are already ranked 9th and after Indiana loses this weekend- they will fall out of the Top 10.
Texas- A&M is a huge game. A&M wins and you're looking at a possible 6 way tie for 1st. Texas wins and its a crazy 5 way tie for 2nd. The loser of the SEC Title game could end up with 3 losses and eliminated from the playoff also.

That's the type of game it would have to be. I also still don't think Dart is anywhere near 100%. They'll have to shoot him up again. And even then, he'll be limited in his movements. If they pressure him like they did Nussmeier, they will have a chance. It's going to be about keeping OM's offense off the field and Florida's offense on it though. And they lost the TOP against LSU over 2:1.

It's not hate, it's using your head. When they lost to a horrible Kentucky team at their own house, that dug a deep hole. They may get in, but it's far from a lock!!
But yes, I do hate them.

Right now uga, tn, and Mississippi are fighting for the last two spots.
If Indiana is competitive at Ohio state Saturday, which I expect they will be, will be interesting to see if they stay ahead of all 3.
Big 10 champ
Sec champ
ACC champ
Big 12 champ
Big 10 loser (Oregon)
Penn state
ND
Sec loser (Bama)
Indiana
Uga
Mississippi
Boise (G5 auto bid)
TN first team out.

Here's the problem the committee is facing- The SEC Champ Game loser is likely to have 3 losses. How does that team get in over an SEC team with only 2 losses? Especially after only getting into the game due to a 4/5/6 team tiebreaker??

I'm pretty sure Georgia will bump them now. Strength of schedule has got to be a factor at some point. It'll put OM at 12, but Boise State will jump them bc they're the at large favorite.

We will see. But the committee said two weeks ago that a team that makes the conference title game and loses will not be punished. We will see.

I think they will be 10 tonight, which means they are the last team in (big 12 winner and G5 participant will both be behind them but both get auto bids). If they are 9, then they are the next to last team in.

We need IU to either beat Ohio State or keep it really close.
We don't need a blowout. If Ohio State blows IU out, then they will fall behind UGA.
My gut says that they will move everyone up two spots. Here is my guess:
1) Oregon
2) Ohio State
3) Texas
4) Penn State
5) Indiana
6) Notre Dame
7) Miami
8) Bama
9) Ole Miss
10) Georgia
11) Tennessee
12) BYU
13) Boise
14) SMU
15) A&M

I think they are going to bump UGA over OM. H2H does matter, but so do common opponents you would think. I still think that when nut cutting time comes, the UK loss will keep OM out of the playoff. No one else, outside of Notre Dame, in the top 15 has a loss that bad. Even Miami's loss to Ga Tech isn't terrible because it was on the road and Ga Tech is a .500 team.

Yep. Pretty simple. Win they are in. Lose they are out. They will boat race the Gators.

It's not that simple. That's the most likely scenario, but not that simple.
The last two teams in right now are OM and Georgia. TN is first team out.
If Aggie wins out they are in automatically, and I think in that scenario Texas would stay ahead of OM.
Assuming Indiana is competitive with Ohio State, which I expect, and stays in, that puts the last spot as between OM and Georgia. Georgia resume is way better but OM has head to head. Whichever team looks better the last two weeks would likely get in. Remember, AL jumped Miami this week with neither losing.

I’m just not a big fan of the way the playoff is set up. The top 12 teams should go and the top 4 get a bye. I’m not sure I’m real sold on Tennessee but would anyone really take PSU, Indiana, a big 12 team or Boise to win on a neutral field over Texas, Bama, UGA, Ole Miss or aTm? Oregon,OSU, those 5 SEC teams and ND are the top 8 in my opinion. Miami, PSU, Indiana and Boise are decent teams but I doubt they would beat the other 8 unless someone in that group has an off day yet some of them might get byes because they won a weak conference.
