The fact that nobody is giving them half the hype they had last year is criminal. They went 4-8 and looked bad towards the end. They are staring down the barrel at a 10-2 season, possible playoff spot, and big12 championship, if cards fall correctly. If Deion is not coach of the year he should be.

Exactly. Fox has bent over backwards to get eyeballs on them with prime tv slots. The best thing that could have happened to them this year was to not have to be stuck in those brutal PAC 12 after dark games.

Deion could easily have a regular playoff contender and national championship contender if he decided to stay at Colorado. However, his sights are set higher than Boulder. Whether that be the FSU job or the NFL, he will not be content in Boulder. The other thing helping Deion is that he has two top 5 picks on his team. It feels like Shadeur has been completely unlocked now and Hunter is fully healthy.

LOL Deion is not going to keep coaching.

FSU certainly coming open, right?

At this point, I still say no. Norvell would be owed a little over 64 million dollars altogether since they'd owe him 85% of his remaining salary. That's a huge swing to make and you better be damn sure that you are getting a home run candidate if you take that type of swing. Deion is not the type of coach you take that swing with. Kiffin might be. But someone is going to have to pony up IN A MASSIVE WAY to pull that off if they go that route, or really any top tier coach.

For example, if they went Kiffin, you'd owe 64 mil to Norvell, which probably balloons to over 70 mil with assts and staff buyouts. You would then owe Kiffin's buyout, which is 4 mil since they wouldn't fire him. He would be leaving voluntarily. So you're at or around 75 million. Now Kiffin would probably want 10.5, so you're at almost 90 or a little over. I mean that's a CHUNK of change. I still think they'll give Norvell another year.

I realize it's likely spelled out in the contract and they are likely all different, but the buyout would be spread out over the length of the contract. There'd be opportunity for the school to offer a lump sum, say $45mil, rather than the $64mil being prorated out over the remaining length of the contract. I realize even $45 mil would be a huge hill to climb.

It would be and that's true, but what you're forgetting here, there's a 2.5 billion dollar house settlement coming down the pipe. That's taking an extra 20-25 mil out of every AD budget. Boosters are going to be asked to contribute to that fund as well. I mean you're going to bleed people dry, at least your big time boosters, between buyouts, hiring, and then paying and retaining players.

Yeah, but does that bill make it through a Republican senate? Be interesting to see.

Lol actually yes I have, had my first kid back in February. So, watching football hasn't been top of my priority list this year.

Even then I felt like Deion and Colorado was all I saw whenever I opened my phone. Just interesting.

I'm thinking the same, but really hoping we are wrong. I'm waiting for coaches to recognize when they got a good thing. Dan at Mississippi State, Charlie strong at Louisville, Auburn when they had Gus, kiffin at Pissville. Wake up and smell the roses you have.

They'll struggle early with Kansas, but they'll pull away. They have the better QB. People want to hate Shadeur so bad, but the kid is a LEGIT QB. He should be the first QB taken in the draft IMO.

They are in the perfect conference to survive this season they improved their OL from last year but they showed what everybody says, it’s hard to expect peak production out of a freshman tackle even if he’s a 5 star. Seaton struggled badly to start the season. They don’t run the ball because of injury and ineffectiveness so Shaduer gets to chunk it up and down the field.

Where they really killed it in the portal was the DL. But unlike that other board where everybody loves to throw Lebby and Salmon under the bus, they don’t give him the benefit of the doubt and try to compare our situation to other programs whose staffs have been on the job longer.

Deion’s defense couldn’t stop anybody last year so he brought in a NFL coach as his DC, brought in Warren Sapp in an off field role and had some big hits on the DL. So much so that they are at the top of the NCAA in sacks. It can be done in an offseason. Our problem is we don’t have the Prime Time recruiting machine at our disposal to ensure that we May waves in the portal.

All correct. But it goes back to people want to play for a cool program. Boulder, CO is not an exciting town other than being a college town. But Deion has made it cool to be there. Oxford, MS isn't an exciting town other than being a college town, but their fans have bought in to the perception that Oxford is the place to be and they spread that message. Two different ways to do it, but both are successful.

Then there's us. Our fans can't wait to tell you everything we do wrong, have different factions, bitch about hotel prices, bitch about parking, and proudly proclaim that they won't come back to Starkville until we are winning and they'll never donate to NIL. And we wonder why players don't want to come play for Mississippi State****

Perception is reality.

Howdie Doodie runs State like it's an Amish elementary school and BBQ boy has the worst marketing efforts since Templeton. We do everything to promote our "wholesome, God fearing, pearl clutching," we can.

Can I ask you a question....who the 17 is howdie doodie and BBQ boy? I get you're trying to be the new C34 with nicknames, but some clarity in who you're talking about would be good.

^^^^^^^^^^^ 100%. Our fans hate our program more than OM fans hate us. They really got off easy having us for a rival, we tear our selves down so much, they don't have to put much effort into us.

Additionally, I do believe there are several OM fans who masquerade as State fans to make us look bad, not just on MBs, but on social media as well.

To this day, we still have folks trashing Mike and Will. Mike is one of the best coaches in CFB history and beloved and respected by all. Will is a class act and has never uttered a negative word about us, even though Arnett did him dirty.

Not gonna rehash all the Will and Leach stuff. They are in the past so it does us no good either way.

The damage being done now is the constant whiners like Queef, Goat and others who constantly and consistently blame Selmon and Keenum for everything. Then it spills over into Lebby and the rest.

I honestly wouldn’t blame Lebby one bit if he just said forget yall and walked away. We are a sinking ship and it is being lead by our own rats. NEVER SATISIFIED about anything and just want to bitch and moan with no end in sight
