I hope we keep on top of Kamario Taylor--he is the next Cam newton (talent wise). Plus His brother-plays both ways -returns kicks and is really good.

They'll go after Caleb Cunningham too.
Caleb was starting to see how advantageous playing with MVB would be when he gets more experience and a better O-Line.

It will take Taylor at least a year to learn the offense and learn how to play at this level. I have said since Florida, we are bringing in a transfer in the offseason. That transfer will compete with MVB. If MVB wins, awesome. If he doesn't, which I don't expect he will, he R/S and he and Taylor battle it out in 26. This is the exact shit I was talking about when everyone was trying to crown Van Buren the future after UGA. The kid is good and has a chance to be great. He still struggles with pocket presence at this level and is still learning the slide mechanics of when to slide and when to just find the sticks and run out of bounds. Taylor is going to have the same problem and it will be on a greater level. This is a kid that plays 3A football in MS. The talent level in MS high school football is not great to begin with, add in to that he is head and shoulders better than anyone he will play against and it leads to mistakes he can get away with. He is going to have to learn that he can't make some of the plays at this level that he can make at the high school level. Also, stop with the BS of him not coming. The kid loves Lebby. He will be on campus. His family wants him close to him and more importantly they want him in Starkville.
Also, no he is not Cam Newton. So people need to quit with that as well. He has a chance to be an extremely special player for us. I think that comes in either the 26 or 27 season. Him being ready to take the reigns will coincide with us stepping up and being ready to compete for the playoffs. When he is a R/S Freshman or Sophomore, you will have either a Junior or Senior Mario Craver, a sophomore or junior Xavier Gayten, a sophomore or junior Sanfrisco Magee, a sophomore or junior Michael Johnson, etc.

1. I worry about a few things, losing Taylor's commitment isn't one. He's a Dawg!
2. He's not beating out MVB, he'll RS next year
3. Might as well stop talking about Cunningham

Correct on all 3. Unless we throw an absolute bag at Cunningham, he will be in Tuscaloosa or Oxford next year. I still think he's going to be in Tuscaloosa, but OM is making it real close.

They aren't getting Knight. He is driving the price up on AU, but I've been told that is all this is. Smart for him, Freezus will be desperate after going 5-7 at best this season.

Actually the team that fits Kiffin is the Bears. They have a QB, they have draft capital and their cap isn't a shit show. Kiffin is a lot of things, but he isn't taking over a team with no QB and cap hell.
Just isn't happening.

There's some truth to that too. However, the chance to draft say a Shadeur Sanders, Garrett Nussmeier, Cam Ward, or hell even a Jaxson Dart could entice him. And if you look at the teams that will be drafting high it's:
Giants- need a QB, have weapons, will be making a change
Jaguars- kind of have a QB, have a couple of weapons, probably making a change.
Titans- don't have a QB, don't have weapons, not making a change
Raiders- don't have a QB, don't have weapons, most likely won't make a change
Browns- don't have a QB, not many weapons, probably not making a change
Dolphins- need a new QB, have weapons, won't make a change
Jets- going to probably need a QB, have weapons, already making a change
Saints- need a QB but will need to draft one and trade Carr, have some weapons, already making a change
Patriots- might have a QB, don't have weapons, will not make a change
Panthers- might have a QB, don't have weapons, highly unlikely they make a change.
I mean out of those teams, only 3 teams will be making a change, you can throw Dallas in there too because they'll make a change. I would say the only spots that would entice Kiffin would be the Giants, Saints, Cowboys, and maybe Jets. And really if you want to take it down further it may just be Giants and Saints. I doubt da Bears make a move unless Eberflus completely tanks the rest of the way. I think they'll let him fire the OC and go get a new one. Wouldn't be surprised to see them make a run at Kingsbury, since he worked with Williams at USC. The Giants could be an interesting move. Especially since their former HC is behind Kiffin for 60 minutes on gameday.

He'll improve, but will it be enough to make us better all around? I have my doubts. There's a lot of intricacies about playing in the SEC that he is struggling to grasp. Pocket presence being the most concerning. He still has the same issues in the pocket that he did in his first start. If you take away his first read or the deep ball, he tends to struggle.

Let me give u a tip. Many times he drops back and the offensive line is on their heels pushed backwards. In seeing this the pocket is closing in and he can't see certain lanes. Obviously u and I watch different things. Now what MVB needs to work on is throwing on the run. This Online is awful in pass protection. MVB was forced into starting Qb to injuries. Can't imagine a freshman that has played against 3 playoff teams. He is very athletic and with good coaching moving forward and hard work will a really good QB.
I'm gonna give it rest, but I see good things for him IF he gets some help up front.

And you're not wrong. I think there's room for both of us to be right. His offensive line being subpar, at best, causes him to panic back there due to being a Freshman and having no game experience. I think where I see the problems start to arise is stuff that worries me. It's that Lebby has come into the press conference 3 straight weeks and talked about pocket presence and how it could be better. It's that he tends to slide early, not knowing where the sticks are. It's that if you take away his first read or take away Coleman, he panics. Which either leads to holding the ball or trying to force a pass to someone that is nowhere near open. No QB in this league, unless they are playing us, is going to have a clean pocket more than 5-10 times a game. You have to learn to move with the pocket and take what they give you. Move towards the space. This is something a guy like Nussmeier does very well.

Noxubee is 3a-but they play Louisville-West Point and Columbus most years. So they play against elite teams every year. Louisville could not handle KT. he is a man among boys. Doubt if you want. I talked to a JUCO head Coach last friday-His opinion was KT would start at MSU now.

Glad they play some tough teams, but my HS is 3A and quality of play is not very impressive. Still running single and double wing, little speed or college size, kicking game non-existent, etc. I think Taylor is the real deal, but big jump from MS 3A to an impact Freshman in the SEC.

3A is one of the toughest divisions in MS. Easily the deepest division. But Taylor needs to sit a year. He's a stud but can take his time with MVB there.

you haven't seen Noxubee play. and the other team Friday night had a Kid that can kick 60 year FGs and punt lights out. Perkins at ole Miss is a 3a kid --he started as a freshman-Omar and Jeff started as freshmen. I've seen many 1a-2a and 3a kids play as freshmen.

I think it would be great if Shapen stays but I don't see him being #1 mainly because of his past history with injuries. No reason if he stays there couldn't packages for both he and MVB.
Btw, what some of the ED wanna be coaches* don't get, during the early practice sessions, Lebby brought Shapen in the be the starter, in saying this, he took the majority of snaps to learn te offense and get ready for the season. MVB being a young freshman got some snaps but not nearly enough going into the game against Texas and so forth.
He will be so much better going forward (MVB).

I'm not sure how much emphasis is put on qb development anymore. If Taylor can't be proficient by year two, he may be gone. He can have great talent, but it all depends on picking up the scheme the ability to exhibit that in real games.

Correct. And knowing a little bit about this scheme, he is not going to be able to pick it up immediately. Hell, Iamaleava is still learning some of the nuances of it and he's on month 23 in the offense.
