We know how bad the football season has been but we have some talent on this basketball team so let's support them!
I think this is Jans best team he has ever had on paper, some of the coaches allude to that as well. Jans has one of the highest winning percentages in College Basketball and this year he has the talent to match his coaching. Our main transfers all come with experience from major D1 programs:
Kanye Clary: 17ppg 3 rpg 3 apg at Penn St
Claudell Harris: 14 ppg 4 rpg 2 apg Boston College
Riley Kugel: 9 ppg 3 rpg 1 apg Florida
RJ Melendez: 10 ppg 4 rpg Georgia
Kugel was considered an early 1st round NBA draft pick after his 1st season, he got in the doghouse last year for some reason but he has the most potential of all the newcomers. Melendez is probably the sleeper of the new bunch, he led us in scoring against our scrimmage vs. Georgia Tech. We also have the two new Centers Nwoko and Foemana both with good size and athleticism at the 5... All of this to go along with Hubbard, Keyshawn and Cam Matthews... In my opinion we are a top 25 team on paper right now. I think the team feels the same way. We have depth, experience and size. There's no way we shouldn't have a great season and be at minimum a 6 seed. I know we are projected to be an 8 seed but I think we are better than that. We don't really have many excuses to be a bad team this year other than learning how to play together but hundreds of teams are figuring that out.
