Since Hugh Freeze took over
2013 SEC West standings:
1. Auburn 7-1 (Auburn won head to head over Bama)
2. Bama 7-1
3. LSU 5-3
4. A&M 4-4
5. State 3-5 (State won head to head over Ole Miss)
6. Ole Miss 3-5
7. UPig 0-8
2012 SEC West Standings:
1. Bama 7-1
2. LSU 6-2 (LSU won head to head vs A&M)
3. A&M 6-2
4. State 4-4
5. Ole Miss 3-5

State still managed to finished ahead of Ole Miss in 2013- even though Ole Miss had 20 starters returning and State had 12. 2014? State has 17 starters returning, Ole Miss has 14.

Last two years:
Auburn 7-9
State 7-9
Rebelesque spin: we've got the same conference record, over the past two seasons, as the potential national champion!

Technically, the only tiebreaker that exists is the one that sends someone to the conference championship game.
I don't think the conference officially recognizes Auburn as the sole winner of the SEC West this year, for example, except that they sent them to the CG.
But I know that they consider anyone below that top spot with the same record as another team to be tied with them; there is no tiebreaker for head-to-head record.
However, I'm totally fine with us using common sense and establishing that we did finish ahead of them this year. Just saying, technically I believe it's:
5. Mississippi State (3-5)
5. Ole Miss (3-5)
and
2. LSU (6-2)
2. A&M (6-2)

technically- head to head breaks any ties...whether the conference does it or not. And if they do it for 1st place- then they have established precedent to do it throughout the standings

I am w you coach, they would spin it that way of the shoe were on the other foot. But smoot is right, they don't break ties in sec except for tournament seedlings. W that said, please don't stop hammer away.
