?Mainly my mom,? Peters said. ?She?s been with me ever since I was born and she?s the love of my life.?

Mom?s favorite trip so far?

?She went with me to LSU and liked it there, but mainly she likes Mississippi State a lot.?

Peters likes Mississippi State a lot too. When asked what school needs him the most, he said MSU. When asked about a coach he has good relationship with, he didn?t hesitate.

?Coach Dan Mullen,? he said. ?(He and I) have a good relationship.?

Peters said he likes the whole environment at MSU, including the coaches, fans, and players. At Ole Miss, the four-star prospect likes the way freshmen get an opportunity to play early.

Steve put out some good vibes for us on him today as well. Looks like things are definitely moving in the right direction, and he seems to feel like we're in better shape for Javon Patterson, too.

Obviously we won't get everybody, but if we can have a really good year next year and stay ahead of Ole Miss, we have a chance to clean up really well in-state.

I've been feeling like we had no shot without the twins.. Looks like I was wrong.. And happy to be so.

I still expect it to be a tough crootin battle, though.

DeRunnya and Beni Brown are two that we got....but you're right, they typically get who they want. Especially with the season they're having.

He saw it on 247. Barton Simmons talked to Corey today and Corey told him that he is going to have to look at depth charts and all the DL that TN has committed is a concern to him.

All the 247 guys have Corey crystal balled to MSU

Paul also said today that we lead for virtually every 2015 recruit in MS. Get ready for private investigators and the cash to start flowing. OM may not handle this well. I hope our boosters and compliance have their house in order.

Anybody still think the NCAA isn't actively investigating Ole Miss? NCAA rumors abound. Crootin machine grinds to a halt.

Pure coincidence.

Holy CRAP.

This is the benefit of continuity and sustained success. Over time, if you have a coaching staff that stays relatively stable and just don't stink, you will get better and better recruits. I've seen it happen just about everywhere.

2015 could be the motherload, boys. Let's hope we close it out.

PAY the damn assistants already...

I can see the writing on the wall from a mile away of us setting up a tremendous class and having a great season next year -- only to have our best assistants get picked off after next year -- resulting in 2010 and the 2011 recruiting class all over again...

Here are the leaders that Paul stated this morning:

Leo Lewis - MSU
Malik Dear - MSU or Bama
Peters - MSU
Patterson - Auburn or MSU
Smith - MSU if Bama doesnt offer
Adams - MSU
Spivey - OM if they offer
Dontea Jones - out-of-state
Bell - MSU unless Bama or Auburn offers, if MSU gets Cory Thomas, they are good friends and helps MSU
Shaw - MSU
Johnson - no idea really
Williams - same as Johnson

Someone who at least BS's that they know things told me not to expect anything to happen to UM from the NCAA, but expect recruiting to suffer. The SEC office has slapped their hand. That statement appears to be playing out, but who the hell knows. I wouldn't be surprised by anything at this point.

Obviously things change, but that's pretty crazy if that's true. PJ is usually pretty straight down the middle, isn't he? Like, will just tell you if Ole Miss leads for a guy?

Because it's hard to believe that Ole Miss leads for one guy right now. Also weird to see Auburn/MSU on Patterson b/c he publicly stated a month or so ago that his leaders were Bama/OM.

Who are Bell, Shaw, Johnson, and Williams?

ETA: If we got Lewis/Peters/Washington/Moton/Jay Johnson (if on D)/Adams, that is just a sick class on defense.

I agree Engie, but I don't see this happening. We have invested way to much into our facilities and winning to allow this. I think Scott will lock up these guys in time, and the only way we'll lose coaches is if they get head coaching offers.

The entire offensive staff likely isn't looking to go anywhere, and Collins and Townsend are the only two I'd be concerned about of defense.

In many ways, I wonder if the whole Manny Diaz situation may have helped us because it made statement loud and clear that the grass isn't always greener somewhere else.

MSU coaches have a better job now than they did when Manny was here. The power of the SEC has made it where you can't get better publicity or talent most anywhere else. Furthermore, Mullen has also built a base of talent and depth that gives the assistants the confidence that MSU can continue to compete and their careers can continue to grow.

The only thing MSU has to do in order to be one of the top 20 assistant coaching destinations in the country is to actually pay the assistants that way. Which I'm sure will happen in short time. We've invested way to much in other areas to allow such an important area to go un-noticed.

These guys seem to wanna play together, too, so it helps a lot that we already have a few big names committed. Get a guy like Adams and/or Peters on board this spring and the rest may not be far behind. I think they realize what kind of potential they would all bring to an already talented State roster.

The fact that he feels that good about Peters is a good sign, though. We know we are in good standing with Adams, and most people seem to think we lead for Lewis as well, so adding Peters to that mix is nice.

I have a good feeling about Dear as well...after that, focus on Patterson and J'Mar Smith and anything else would be gravy.

I agree with you; it never works out that way. But if we can make that class one of those in which we get a majority of them (a la 2009), that would be huge. That class is loaded.

C34- we can speculate several senerio's. One, recruiting is looking very good for 2014 and 2015. Two, TSUN is having internal problems such as the post vedio EG of Freeze and BoBo. Three, we are opening Cristmas gifts to early for 14 and going senile for 15. O' yea it looks great but I have experienced ground hog day several times.
