1. Grabbed some ribeyes from Sams to go with the Conecuh sausage already in hand for the grill. Grilled onions and red bell peppah for my side with a little olive oil and worchestershire sauce. Good day.

2. Well folks, we are getting better. We saw some good things against Texas and alot more yesterday in Athens. We have found our QB. We are better offensively with him already. Lebbo looks like he has lightened the load a little for the youngster to make sure he knows exactly what to do. VB is still a little erratic at times but hey- hes still a rookie. Gonna get nothing but better. With us bringing in another good looking HS QB next year- you have to feel good about the future at that position.

3. Still cant run the ball very effectively but the last 2 defenses we have played been pretty damn good. I like that we didnt abandon the run and make our Rookie a sitting duck in the pocket. Got to keep working it to keep the D from pinning their ears back. Have really liked Lebbo's gameplan the last 2 outings- and especially coming off a bye. We were ready to play offensively.

4. Defense is still shitty. However- we didnt look as soft yesterday. We delivered a few licks- so I can be encouraged by that as well. Still not sold on our DC. Curious to see how that plays out after the season.

5. Bottom line- teams that are coached get better during the season. We are getting better. It's still not where we want to be, but we are going in the right direction. Need to finish this recruiting class off strong and get a few more hired guns on D- especially in the trenches.

Yeah I am all on board with Lebby. All I wanted to see this year was us getting better each week and players are playing hard. Reminds me a lot of Mullen 5-7 team. I could be way off but I think Shapen was not well liked or was not able to be a leader other guys want to get behind.

I’m pretty pleased with the progress. It’s a write off year as far as our record goes. But just keep improving and I’ll be satisfied this year. Maybe we will see a win or two second half of season. That would be a nice reward for the guys.

Agreed. You can see us trending in the right direction which is about all you can ask for at this point. Should beat UMass and hopefully sneak an SEC win or 2 to close out the year.

The DBs and LBs dropping back into coverage, and I mean waayyy back, are so lost as what to do we might as well blitz every play.

I agree, we are getting better. Looks to me like 0 gotta little Dak in him leadership wise.

lol- we damn sure were playing some damn zone coverage. Trying to keep everything in front of us. Same stuff Arnott was doing as DC

Nothing else we can expect them to do when we can't get even an ounce of pressure on the QB

I can't remember what play it was but the entire backfield was dropping like we were in punt return coverage. I don't care if our guys can't cover but thats no way to teach them anything. It's like in little league when you tell the outfield to stand on the fence. No good comes from that

Yeah when a qb has ten seconds to throw on
Every drop back there's literally not very many schemes that can account for that. Can't expect any secondary to cover that long.

We rush 3 half the time, no one getting a rush like that. We did get quite a few TFL yesterday. The soft zone drives me crazy. Too easy over the middle. We need to blitz more and mix it up.

I think it was 3rd and 3 and our DB’s were 10 yards from the receivers in zone coverage.
