NIL and Portal are here to stay but NFL style team salary caps and multi-year contracts a must (JMO) to even the competition field. In my opinion, you will see these overpaid "student athletes" quit on the field as unexpected losses come. They have no loyalty to the school, will try to leverage a better deal somewhere else & start looking around for another deal at another school. This is already being seen mid-season by taking available redshirt or hoping for another medical year due to lack of playing time. It amazes me that neither the courts or the NCAA want to address that about half these portal players find no landing spots the last few cycles. I checked out the USM roster I don't think any of our former players are even listed. Caring about a perhaps life changing educational opportunity is not even talked about. Just $$$$$ for greedy NCAA, overpaid coaches and the players. Kills me to see a $10 million or so HC complaining about portal/NIL. Hypocrite Saben got out as bama can no longer stack 4 and 5 star classes and make them wait 3 or 4 years for playing time and it shows this year.

They might be able to simply pay them to wait now that the roster size have been expanded to 105. JMO

We've got a couple on that USM roster and so does OM.

I stand corrected on former players who dropped down to USM, (I don't see how they afford to fund a program), as we have at least four on the 2024 roster. USM is 1-5 & 0-2 in the the Sunbelt. Didn't bother to research former OM players.

IMO this crap that we now call college football is not sustainable in its current form. No cap on salaries and you can try dress it up as Name Image and Likeness or call it whatever you want but the bottom line it’s a salary or pay for play.

Transfer anytime and anywhere you want is a joke. How are you supposed to plan a roster? How are you supposed to develop players?

Expanding rosters only benefits the teams that have major funding. Able to stack 4 & 5 star players. While the teams that don’t have the funding get the leftovers and scraps.

No thanks!

I'll be surprised if Will Hall isn't at Ole Miss next year in some capacity. He isn't a good head coach.
