The last 2 games, we've been as outmanned as you can be, and yet, the team has hung in there. I see a little light at the end of the tunnel now. Hit the trail, Lebby, and get us some more talent.

Lot of improvements the last few weeks. He's doing a very good job and we are playing with fire and not being intimidated. We badly need some dl and a legit pass rusher. Secondary is doing ok but you can't cover for 10 seconds. Need a pass rush. Lebby calls a good game too

I see that as well, I do think Lebby is more aggressive than Dan which I love.

Dan would have not called the 4th down play at our 40. He would have stuck his tail between his legs and told everyone in his Yankee yarn "Well, we gave it our best shot guys. They're just better than us."

I was skeptical myself but he has earned my support. We gave #1 Texas a run for their money in the first half and now #5 Georgia. Taking over a program isn't easy but we are getting better each game.

This was not bad at all. Proud of them for not getting blown out. We are going to beat someone at home just not sure which one.

He also wouldn't have called those timeouts either would've just let the clock run. Lebby is a Hecuva play caller too and the more MVB plays the better this offense will get. Bright future

Exactly. Even at Dan's peak we probably get blown out this game.
I don't really see that much of a comparison between Dan and Lebby honestly, but I don't mean that in a negative way. Lebby's throwing the ball downfield more really changes things for us compared to Dan because if you hit even a couple you can get some quick points. That's how you upset people. Whereas Dan usually played it safe so we didn't have very many losses we shouldn't have had but we also didn't have very many upsets either.
Lebby is much more into recruiting than Dan ever was.

Never doubted Lebby, but Hutz got something out of nothing a few times today. Yeah, the defense is terrible, but they battled and made a couple big plays. Year three is going to be something else.

Hopefully Lebby can snag some good ones in the portal and jr college. I’m not concerned how many we win the rest of year. Just keep improving.

It's hard to tell because he has nothing to work with.
We get zero rush. Bellichick and Saban on the same staff can't win with this group either.

Hutzler is working with NO talent, see no push today and Lanier legit quitting on a tackle. I thought we were in position more times today than we have been most of the year. I am willing to let Hutzler play out the year before making my final decision. Right now though, he still does not need to be calling plays next year.

I could not believe Lanier just let the Ga. receiver walk into the end zone for a touchdown from 5yrds out without even attempting to tackle him. And Lanier had his hands on him 5yrds out. If I was coach Lanier would have not played the rest of the game. That’s coaching!

Lanier is quite possibly the worst football player I've seen in my 47 years of living and that's being kind.

Unless we wind up beating 3 out of Mizzou, A&M, OM or Tenn b/c of some improved defense, I don't see keeping Hutzler.
So basically, Hutzler, who has a great scheme, is the sacrificial lamb for some of you when the reason the defense is bad is because Zach Arnett did an absolute shit job of recruiting and player development. The guy lived on what he inherited when he was hired.

I still think this staff was terrible to start. I will be the first to say I didn't think this team could hang with Texas and Georgia for 5 mins though, so credit where credit is due. I'm still pissed for crap preparation at the beginning of the season, but I will chalk it up to inexperience and hope they continue to improve.

He's never been a DC and it shows. Damn. He made Skittle Do look like McCaffery his senior year at Stanford. Those vacant gaps vs Florida are unforgivable. That was a pee wee football mistake, not D1 college ball.

That and couldn't tackle. We're doing better so we'll see. The scheme is what worries me. How did he not adjust when they loaded up on one side.
Did Lebby make changes? We are making progress if nothing else

I would say the team I've seen the last two games beats both ASU and Toledo by two touchdowns. There have been some big improvements. Is Hutzler adjusting his scheme? Has he figured something out? Is Barnes more hands on with the defense? Don't know. But, it's going to be interesting watching the next 6 games.

Yep and if MVB played way he did today maybe Florida too. If this is year 2 for Lebby with this same roster we are 3-3 at worse.

They don?t quit. We tackle better than many. Outside of WR we have little to no SEC talent.

It should be fine. The big NIL QBs are usually older guys not true freshmen. But if we replaced him with Jackson Arnold I?m happy there too

Agree. He?s better than Bama DC. We tackle better and have gotten better over time and we have nothing above 3 star talent on D. I couldn?t stand him at first, but his improvement has been substantial. We tackled well today but our talent is absolutely not up to par, in fact our defensive is the worst we?ve had in 20 years at least. Jackie, Croom, and Mullen all hard more D talent.

I'm at the same spot. But since we're so devoid of talent I bet Lebby brings him back next year. I'm not saying he should or that's the right thing to do. But if we improve these last six games I don't see why he would let Hutzler go. That said if it goes the other way and we're on Twitter every week getting clowned because of our defense being way out of position these last six games then yeah- I could see him getting let go. Hence the let's let the season play out agreement.
The thing is what is happening now is the same blueprint that happened when Lebby was at Ole Miss and Oklahoma. You could see glimpses with the offense but the defense was putrid.
Today totally reminded me of a 2020-2021 Ole Miss football game.
If we can add enough talent to just get decent on defense we could make a lot of improvements in one offseason.

I watched a video highlight on Youtube this morning. That Bama D is soft. That's not the kind of defense Bama fans are accustom too. That's a PAC 12 defense. DeBoer has to adjust to the SEC or he's going to be Harsined soon.

For what it's worth, the DC at Bama was previously the HC at South Alabama.

Dave Wommack's son. He was DC at Indiana under HC Tom Allen. Tom Allen ran that defense not him. His HC resume is a little lackluster although he made it to a couple bowls he's only a couple of games above .500. I think this more BeBoer's PAC 12 pedigree influencing the team overall. Let's see how the defense looks against Tennessee. Florida's defense was very effective.
