These past 2 years have been the softest defenses I have seen since I have been watching MSU football. Just being bad is one thing but allowing all these completions and missing tackles is unacceptable. This team shouldn?t be allowed to wear the logo until something changes.

If a kid blows bubbles onto the field at an inopportune moment they would open a running lane in our defense. It is shameful.

I told a buddy of mine that with that much cushion were giving on defense we should call it the My Pillow defense. But, My Pillow would also work for the soft ass shit too.

This is the problem. The offense doesn't actually look bad for the first year in a total rebuild. The DL is trash. But the complete lack of tackling ability is a giant red flag. Some people don't get that some "good" coaches are great with top talent, talent that comes to campus already knowing the fundamentals, has good work ethic etc....but they have no idea how to coach raw kids with no desire.
The defensive scheme didn't even seem that bad, for the first few drives that I saw at least. Time after time they were where they needed to be to get a stop and get off the field....and then blew a tackle. Their fundamentals are absolute garbage.

This defense is the worst I've ever seen at Mississippi State and one of the worst I've ever seen period. The inability to tackle is so unacceptable I have no words for it. These guys came from high schools where they surely tackled and thus my only conclusion can be that the coaching is so atrocious they have untrained them. Everyone on the defensive side needs to go players and coaches.

Locker room problems? Maybe some of them have quit, as well as some of the offensive players? Sure looks that way. But the buck stops with Lenny. No excuses.

This is the type season where players start getting hurt early and often!

We all know tackling is trash but we need someone else calling our defense. Whoever is doing it shouldn't even be calling a high school from the looks of it.

Holy shit.
Hutzler may be worse than Ron Cooper and Peter Sirmon. That's unforgivable right there. I am just stunned.
And two or three experienced, veteran G5 DCs would have walked barefoot to Starkville for the job.

That play wasn't the only time either. Once UF had trips right and the only thing we had over there were two defenders both with 10 yd cushions. Luckily Mertz didn't see it or was not allowed to check into it because they ran a run play to the left.
