I saw this comment about a podcast buried on another thread (another board) and this is the kind of content that should be front and center in front of fans right now. I hate that I had to stumble on this because it's really good. Nevertheless, it's Charlie Winfield (Bulldog Initiative - NIL) giving some important information about our NIL as of this week. He also explains how that has worked in football and basketball and why it really does matter.

Explaining that we have far more in our NIL than Arkansas was encouraging and his explanation of how it's starting to really pay off in basketball was also interesting. He also said that even though the portal was open when Lebby got here, in reality, most of the deals had already been done for many of the players. He and Bart also implied we have some "effort" issues with some defensive players which makes sense (they are either slow as Christmas or they don't care).

Anyway, listen on your lunch break or whatever. I think you will be encouraged.

It is really hard to do this day in age, but I think if we give Lebby 2 offseasons to rebuild this roster and take his rookie HC lumps, we will be glad we were patient

Well that $8MM football donation isn?t gonna hurt for portal recruiting and upgrading staff.

I agree. I'm not getting Arnett or JoMo vibes from him when he speaks. He needs time to build his brand.

Lebby is light years ahead of both of them.

After listening to this podcast and the other news coming out today (8 mil investment) I am encouraged for sure. It's going to be a rough year, that's obvious, but if we can upgrade some assistants I think we are going to be fine.

I'm perfectly fine with Lebby and we need to give him time.

I would like us to elevate our situation with the defensive coordinator though.

Being a new first time HC and hiring a first time DC did us no favors. I can understand defensive players being hesitant to come here for someone they've never heard of.

Apparently, Mississippi State and people in Daks corner are speaking to each other.

Dak is tired of seeing us get embarrassed
