I was on that team, and I?m not sure that we would lose to this team. Bad all the way around, and there?s really no defending it either. We?re going to set a single season record for most points allowed per game and total points allowed. At least 3 teams will drop 50 or more, and we will give up 40 or more to another 4 teams. I?m not going to finger point, because both sides of the ball are horrid! I really thought we could realistically win 6 games this year??spoiler alert UMASS will be a toss up! EKU & 11 is going to be brutal to witness and endure for years to come! The good news, now we can lay Tech & 10 to rest, and some of us can say that we weren?t the worst team in MSU history.

Too bad yall didn't get to play an FCS team.

Y'all had a good offense that year. Y'all would roll up 40+ on the 2024 defense.

I remember that UGA game being a very good game. We won't have a sec game that close this year.

Memphis State kicked our ass as well as USM.

I think La Tech was a FCS team that year.

I think It is a safe bet that Memphis would beat 2024 MSU team too. USM... 1988 USM was basically a SEC talented team....they would surely beat this 2024 MSU team.

Also, was 88 the year Eric Underwood broke his collar bone at Vandy? Wasn't he QB1? I may have the years mixed up. Maybe Shell was the better QB all along. I don't remember.

Tony Shell could sling it.

I still say he was a better baseball player than football

I was at that game. My parents took me and one of my friends. We almost upset them, losing 42-35. Crowd was into it. Fun. And UGA wore red pants, quite a rarity.

Me too. Got set up with a blind date who had twisted her ankle the night before. She limped around the whole day. Letdown all the way around that day
