Rumor is Taylor tried to shake down Lebby for NIL and then when we didn't budge he wouldn't practice and said he had a hurt ankle. Trainers taped him the next day but he still wouldn't practice so we told him to hit the road.

And the problems with NIL continue for college football. For everyone of these you hear about there are 100 more across other teams. Kudos to Lebby for having a backbone to deal with it.

I mean I might throw him 5k, but that would be it.

If you are throwing money out I can pretty well promise you that 5k will go to something way more beneficial to the world than what he was going to throw it at.

He got run off from a previous stop for being lazy, so it's not a surprise

Who?

15 tackles as a backup last year. Transfer from MS JC after not making it at LSU. Portal/NIL has too many players thinking that they are college AA and can't miss NFL draft picks. Could care less about how a free college education might change their lives.

Anyone who gives a dollar for this garbage would be better off giving it to me. No offense if you have. Its your money but this is not okay

So i suppose we can not count on you to help deliver Preston Ashley, Robinson, or Newell to State in the upcoming recruiting classes. That?s pretty disappointing to be as big of a fan you are and not help them get their NIL funds in line from the State contingency in Rankin County.

Also, I just have to ask, did you ask Will or Wyatt for any of the funds they received the last three years for defending him on message boards and Facebook?

Agree to disagree. There’s no difference in this and other things people do with their money. The kid wasn’t worth what he asked for. Now he’s gone. That’s how business works.

Haha, boom. Will's boy is anti NIL but constantly bragged about how much Auburn was willing to pay.

The NIL is officially the boogeyman. Any negative thing that occurs will automatically be attributed to it. But anything positive (players that actually make a difference and help us win) will be attributed to anything else.

I get the trepidation with it. You are funding an athlete's shoe collection or their condo while you're having to drive to and from Starkville on gameday because the hotels are $700/night with a two night minimum. It's not like it used to be, but these are the cards that we have been dealt. You have to play by these rules or you'll die as a program. It's not fair and the schools need to be the one's paying for this since they are the ones directly benefiting with TV contracts, ticket sales, and merchandise. But until someone gets it fixed or the House settlement comes through, we have to do our part. A lot of people giving a little will benefit us because we know that we have the Richard Rula's, the Billy Howard's, the Richard Adkerson's, and the Heath Jenkins' of the world giving a lot.

Precisly, it's reality whether we like it or not. I don't love it either but it's better than dying off as a program and having Ole Miss become the LSU of our state.

No. Will gave a bunch away to keep bookie and tulu. Rara too. And zavion. That turned out well.

If you are asking me if im going to be involved in a NIL deal for any player, absolutely not. Neither is any other HS coach that wants to keep his job. Swing and a miss bud

The trouble is a HC being extorted over NIL bullshit. This is something that happens frequently.

Would be a lot easier for the school to just add .50 to every item at concessions or do a % NIL tax on anything bought merchandise wise from the University. Would have no problem with that

Unfortunately, in the present rules, they can't do that. Now I believe a workaround to that would be someone like Two Brothers or Boardtown or some local restaurant having a stand in DWS and they might be allowed since technically they are not associated with the university. Personally, if I was a bar in the District, I would charge an NIL tax of .50 on every item purchased during home weekends. Most people wouldn't know and less than that would care.

Some folks in Arkansas are trying to get a bill passed that would legalize online gambling (casino not sports) with a chunk of the proceeds going to NIL for all AR colleges given out proportionate to enrollment.

There's got to be other creative ways to generate NIL money from things people are already blowing money on.

The most creative way, IMO, would be for the Bulldog Initiative to fund the parking garage that the district so sorely needs and make all parking garage funds go directly to the BI. Or if the Initiative could bring a concert either to DWS,DNF, or The District. Hardy is probably the most obvious choice for that. The difficult part is getting an artist to do a one off performance because the concert could not be related to any tour as that would mean the tour would take the proceeds and not the BI. Just a couple of ideas.

It seems to me that some of our fans don't want to just straight up give money for this so we've got to get creative with it and give them some type of service or entertainment event.

Great ideas and I think there's many other ideas that could be pursued. Lot's of decision makers need to get in one room and start thinking big.

Pretty good thought process on this. Parking in the district at anytime is nightmare.

That’s a killer way to think.
