I am curious what you guys think, it seems to me kids who transfer out and start for other programs seem to play better or look better at their new program than they did here at State.

Dillion Johnson going to Washington
Woody to USC I know it's one game but watching him run he seemed so much more stronger.
Will going to Washington - some of yall said he was check down but we will see as the season moves along.

It's just weird to me guys leave and I see them getting better after the fact. Interested if you guys see the same.

those are mostly due to the coaches we had during their time here.... To stuck in their coaching style to use them to their strengths... just my opinion

Dillon just had better talent around him and a coach that didn't refer to him as a Puzzy.
Woody didn't put up big numbers. He made a huge play but that's about it.
Zavion made one play and that's it, Nicholson didn't start, Will was Will. I don't see a difference really.

Oh really?

What about RaRa? Complete flop at Georgia
Zavion at LSU? Plenty of open spots for the taking in that WR room after what they lost last year. 2 catches in opener- QB threw 39 passes
Nicholson didnt start but had 2 tackles. Had 42 tackles for us in 2023.

Dillon and Woody are good football players. Dillon had to share with Woody in Sville. Washington made him their guy. Woody has always played well when healthy. He'll play well for them until he gets hurt again

I actually thought about this same thing after watching football this past weekend, I won't lie Im happy for both of them and their success but it isnt fun watching 2 of our guys move on like that and have an impact, especially when we could actually use them both right now. Good luck to them both though.

Aa far as Rogers goes I've seen some fans already complaining about him so we will see how that situation pans out

Know Woody had a great run to seal the victory. Didn't see him constantly in the flat to get blown up on check downs. Maybe if they don't steal that from the boring game plans of previous coaches, he will stay healthy enough to be a run first back.

Woody and Dillon were great at state, they were just in a different system. Will holds tons of records and he looked at Washington about the same as under Leach.

I can only imagine that you would be refering to Dillion and Woody. Neither was catching 15 passes out in the flats and getting hit on every single play. That makes a difference. They were well coached and did what they were asked to do while at State. And they continued doing that at their new schools. Both were very good players and that's why they were invited to join the schools they did.

Watching Vany Losoya looked pretty good at center.

Vandy's best addition was Jerry Kill. I have a theory that he's actually the one coaching this team. I mean it's his old OC that is the new Vandy OC and he had a headset on and was on the field Saturday. I think Lea may have the title of HC, but Kill is actually coaching this team.

Kill has taken over the offense. Lea took over the D. I'm sure they talk to each other about everything going on. Vandy is def improved this year and they will be solid until their QB gets hurt.

Yeah you definitely didn't watch the washington game because WR was the same ole WR. In fact, I would say he performed better against OOC competition at State than he did against Weber St.

It will never be fair to player or team to compare a RB in Leach?s offense to any other offense so throw those 2 out

Rogers is a game manager, and he's pretty good at it. That's fine, there are plenty of QBs that can make that work for them. However, MSU does not need a game manager at QB. We don't have the talent on offense to take a game manager up against Bama, Georgia, LSU, etc. and come out with a win. Never have, never will. We need someone who can take some chances and beat 1-1 coverage deep. I didn't love the idea of Leach here, but it's not because I didn't think his offensive system would work. I just knew his reputation for defense and recruiting. Plus, when you go all-in on that type of system, the roster is all messed up for a few years when you end up transitioning to something else. To be fair, we actually played good defense and recruited well under Leach. Now, with the portal, you can revamp in a year or two so the the whole "system" situation didn't have to be as bad as it once was. Unfortunately, we hired a moron who just tried to run a different offense with the same players. But, back to Will - he DID limit Leach's offense here. There's just no way around it. He was just far too comfortable taking the safe 5 yard completions, so he would never pressure the defense the way Couch, Heupel, Kingsbury, Hodges, Harrell, Falk, Minshew, Gordon, etc. all did. Will put up good numbers under Leach, but not really the kinds of numbers you saw from these other guys. I remember playing college fantasy football and you ALWAYS took a Leach QB. It was nothing for them to put up 500+ yards and 5 or 6 TDs. Rogers wasn't like that. He just fell in love with making the safe throws. He is what he is, and he's at Washington now. Best of luck, but I feel like the UW fans will see all of those yards and scores left on the field and a lot of them will get aggravated too. But, not my concern.

Good points on RaRa the issue with him is we all knew he wouldn't equal out there. Zavion to me never came close to his ceiling here, I think he would have this year. We will see what he does at LSU.

I think you have to remember that Rogers wasn?t offered by Leach at State but by Moorhead and committed to Moorhead. J-Mo thought that by doing so, it would deliver Mingo. Obviously he was wrong. Both Woody and Johnson committed to Huff and JMo as well. Had they been in a balanced offense I think you would have seen what Marks did the other night and Johnson last year at State.

RaRa was talented?RaRa didn?t learn from his past mistakes. Zavion is also talented but never wanted to be here..now he is playing for the home state school and through game 1 is not getting the touches. However-if you look at the trade off between Kevin Coleman/Hudson/KellyA for Zavion?.you take that every day and five times on Sunday.

I?d also point out that in RaRa?s class we would?ve also had Malik Nabers who flipped on NSD. Nabers called Spurrier after he got on campus to transfer and Spurrier told him no. Oh well huh?

I tell you another transfer who a lot of people were hurt about and one we just had to take was Percy Lewis. Did not start week 1 for Auburn-beat out by a Redshirt Freshman. Is their 3rd tackle now.

I?d like to have DeCarlo for depth purposes because outside of our top 2- Jones and Rogers have proven to also be highly rated 4* who either 1) overrated or 2) injury prone.
