Penny cleaned house today. Doesn't seem like the ideal time to be without all of your assistant coaches.

I was about to post this. That's a very odd time to fire 4 staff members, especially a guy with a solid resume like Stansbury. No matter how you feel about him there was a time he had us top 3 or 4 in the SEC annually. He is still an asset on the recruiting trail as well, he was able to get some talent at WKU, he just couldn't win consistently for whatever reason.

Sounds like sanctions are coming down the pipe. You don't get rid of your ENTIRE staff 60 days out from the season unless something bad wrong is coming.

Penny is basketball?s Deion.

That's probably a pretty apt comparison. I thought early on in Penny's tenure he was surrounding himself with smart assts. who knew more than he did and he was learning from them. Whether that be a Larry Brown, Tony Madlock, or Frank Haith. Now it seems as if he's just hiring a bunch of yes men. He'll use them and then get another crop in a couple of years when they start to push back. I know he's greatly hurt himself in the Memphis basketball community with the latest firings.

If it's that bad, not sure Penny skirts punishment. He's already been in trouble.

Commerical Appeal reported the school received an "anonymous" letter yesterday about multiple violations, including academic violations. They must know it's true and they are trying to scapegoat everyone to save Penny.

So he's coming back home?

So you clear house bc you receive an “anonymous letter”. That’s bs! They knew what was going on, probably bluffed, until the NCAA revealed their evidence thus a complete gutting of the bench coaches.

I wouldn't mind if Jans added him. I doubt he comes back though.

College basketball has academic requirements?
