@HKellenbergerCL: Hugh Freeze just got a new contact extension, raising his salary to $3 million.

Increase of $1M I think.

Well, Mullen has been passed by twice this week. Now what- 12th in the SEC?

excellent. he makes the rivalry more fun in all honesty... and he's the epitome of mediocrity in the SEC.

Both Malzahn and Freeze have passed him this week, as C34 pointed out.

This just makes OM's buyout bigger in 2 years.

Agree though, that MSU needs to do the same. Not because OM did, but because our program has needed to for a while.

This is wonderful news that ole Hugh will be around for the fun! We need him in Oxford.

CDM's total salary isn't included in that figure. he has other financial obligations and incomes that push him above $3M (I assume it's above $3M but I don't know the real figure).

I think our assistants need a raise, but Mullen? Sumlin, Pinkel, Richey, Sprurrier, are all within roughly $500k of him, and they all have their teams ranked.

I agree. They all have incentives written in.

Ole Miss also increased their assistant salary pool by $400k.

We need to do the same. Yesterday.

this is the biggest issue for sure. our assistants need to get paid. we'll never keep top flight coordinators if we don't. I'd reward the defensive staff this year. possibly some of the offensive coaches too.

We need an extra $7-800k for assistants IMO...

The whole defensive staff need healthy raises...

lol. yeah that too... but I was referring to an agreement CDM has that helps him pay his bills. it's not income for him that would be in his salary, but it's costs that he no longer has to incur.

Agreed, paying competitively enough to keep our key assistants around should be our #1 goal especially at DC. We need to keep continuity with Collins. I'm not as worried about OC because Mullen runs the offense when all is said and done, Koennig is mostly a QB coach and a "yes" man to Dan in what to do with our offense.

Agreed on the assistants.

But dang, they sure do talk about recruiting constantly. I wish my employer would give me a raise because I got a new computer, a new chair, and am now not held back by anything in my task to complete my objectives.

Why does everyone at Ole Miss seem to honestly believe that recruiting is one of a coach's end goals?

People say Franklin actually makes around 3MM- just no way to fully know because Vandy is private

Mullen will be paid less than everyone except Stoops in about 3 weeks.
Who is Franklin's agent?
