To me they looked more physical than us. Their trenches were stronger and their ball carriers seemed angrier. Maybe it was just the match up but I didn't love that. I do think schematically we can pose problems for them

Agreed. Money line and over is the play for me. I think the rain probably changed our game plan yesterday. Without the rain I think it is closer to 70-7. Our tempo changed when the rain began. We used the tempo sparingly after, but before we were going 90 mph and they were barely having time to get set.

Look at the box scores from a lot of the blowouts and the run numbers are similar to ours. Lots of guys with not a lot of carries but the yards add up in the end. Mississippi only ran Bentley 2 times yesterday.

Do I wish Booth and Lee had looked more impressive yesterday? Sure. But I think that in the game we really were very vanilla with the sets and the run plays. If things don’t look different next week then I think some panic is justified. But what if it is totally different and our guys are running thru gaping holes?

The difference will be our speed. ASU looked good last night but Wyoming is terrible turned the ball over a bunch, had a busload of penalties and looked poorly coached. ASU dominated them but Wyoming doesn't have our speed and that will be the difference. It's gonna be a good test for us and we should know about where we're at.

I watched a little highlights of that game. ASU got at least 17 points off of turnovers. Wyoming QB threw the ball right at them. Shapen is to going to do that. We have to play cleaner for sure though.

Not as bad as it looked. Lebby said that he is getting better. I think he is going to travel and he is on the depth chart for this week as a starter. We will see about him. I?m hopeful that Kelly A. will play and Lebby says he is close. He still might be a week away though.

This will be a close game early and we start pulling away after halftime. They have some top end guys that can compete with us, but our depth is advantage over them (might not be against other SEC teams). It'll be a high scoring game. 45-31/48-31 something like that.

Must spread around...... BTW, AZ State brought in about 70 new players and have a new HC and staff. They were picked last in their conference (we were picked next to last with Vandy trending*** upward).and their HC also ranked last at this point. So who has built the best portal type team? I still say 6-6 floor & 7-5 ceiling. Both depend on beating AZ State and FL. Lose to AZ State & going to be a very long year like 4-8 floor. That being said, State 38 to 24. Hail State!

EKU is not Furman. EKU is better than Wyoming. This was a really good warm up game for us. Get some things on film to clean up. I think our team speed may be a big factor. Wyoming looked like a slow, poorly coached JUCO team. We will be bigger and faster.

This seems like a stretch. Wyoming was a 9 win D1 FBS team last year. EKU was a 5-6 FCS team. Hard to believe in 1 offseason the mid level FCS team is the better team, and the other equates to poorly coached juco.

Give ASU some credit. Dillingham is a good coach, they have some nice transfer talent, the atmosphere was electric, their team play high energy ball and got some breaks and momentum early and never looked back.

This is a good test for Lebby and the Dawgs. If they walk away with a W they will have earned it.

We won 9 in '22 and returned a veteran team coached by a first year head coach promoted from D coordinator and look at us last year. Wyoming won 9 last year and is being coached by a first year coach promoted from D coordinator.

I also think both teams know the importance of this game and what it means for their bowl hopes going forward. The difference, in my mind at least, is that we are a composite 20-25 recruiter and they are a composite 45-55 recruiter. Add in to that, we are a top 50 portal recruiter whereas they're probably a top 75 portal recruiter. Talent favors us by every metric. The difference will be coaching. This is a defense that gave up about 32 ppg last year against a coach who, to date, has avg'd about 35 a ball game the last 4 seasons. I think taking all that into account you see a game that is somewhere in the 45-28 or 42-31 range with us coming out on top.

I think the line is purely Vegas not knowing what to make of all the transfers and them being the home team. The line has come back down to 5.5 now and I would expect it to finish somewhere around 4 or 4.5. A lot of money came in on ASU early in the week that inflated the line. I got it at 6.5 and it was too good to turn down.

I watched the replay of our game yesterday. The announcers were saying EKU's OL was their strength this season b/c most of them are seniors. Still, a little concerning since it is an FCS team but we did start getting more pressure in the second half. I also noticed a couple of linebackers shooting the wrong gap on blitzes.

And I'm sure the coaches will treat this game like Leach's Arizona game two years ago. The team slept in until noon Arizona time. I think it's a close game until late in the second half then we open up a lead.

Man that RB sure did run hard.....I read somewhere that they were "going to try to run the ball down States throat" and that the RB for ASU "runs extremely hard" and State "will have to tackle really well"...... where did I read that?
