Usually I would agree but with all these 7 on 7 teams now and kids transferring HS left and right, they gel faster than you would think. The QBs and receivers were throwing all summer and by most accts our line is the most improved position from the spring and could be strong suit for us. A lot of CFB experience on that line between Miner, Jackson, and Pounders.

Plus I heard the Oline combined Football IQ is higher than 50 so we shouldn't have any guys runningw into each other on blocking assignments like last year!

scUM had 27 transfer players last season and followed it up with 24 (minus a couple of fails) this offseason, and they have playoff aspirations. Nobody is preaching about taking half the season to gel for them.

With the exception of the blue bloods that recruit exclusively in the top 200, this is the way for the middling programs to try and keep up.

Some of the teams with the most portal players coming into this season: Arizona (finished top 15) Washington (natty runner-up), TCU ( 2 years removed from natty runner up) Ole Miss (top 10), Houston, UCF, Cincy, A&M, Colorado, Arizona State, Louisville, Arkansas, Cal, and South Carolina.
