For the handful of weather nerds on here an update on our Skycam project that went live on 7/31 with cameras at Adaton and Maben. In the next 2-4 weeks we should go live at 5 more locations bringing our total up to 7. Those locations are:
Macon
West Point
Oktoc
Greenwood
Greenville
A huge thank you to those of you that have helped make this possible. Still a long ways to go before it's finished, but just getting this far is a lot more than a lot of people said we would get.

Me, too. Hopeful the Macon, Greenwood, and Greenville cameras are live in a week or so. May be a little longer on Oktoc and West Point. Fingers crossed I hear back on a potential big corporate sponsor tomorrow. First few promising leads I had pulled an Amber Heard. Need some contact on this next swing.

Think you could convince some these cities that don't have tornado sirens to install some?

Funny you mention that. For cities where we have locations we have a confirmed location to put a tower, I'm going to email the city leaders and see if they'll sponsor it. To buy, install, and operate one camera for a year is around $1,100...$2,100 if we have to pay a guy to climb the tower. For years 2+ it costs about $500 annually to maintain. So in my opinion it's a pretty cost effective way to help keep your city safe.
