This sounds about right. Remember we ALWAYS get screwed over by the SEC, always. Call me a whiner or always conspiracy theorist or poor pitiful us or whatever. But it’s the truth! Just look at our football schedule, 2nd hardest schedule in the whole *&#@ country.

Texas deserves the most brutal schedule possible for the next 3 years.

I think we do play in the big tourney at Minute Maid Park. Think it's the weekend of February 28 - March 2.

Some of you can't realize that State's purpose in the SEC is to provide wins for the so called big boys.

Yep. Just slightly above Tulane, Ga. Tech and Suwannee. In fact, those 3 may have more overall football wins but I feel pretty confident State has more baseball wins. There was a period when State was Baseball Royalty in the SEC along with LSU. But alas, even Kentucky and Vandy have caught up in baseball. Thankful for Missouri...I guess.

Poor ol' Mississippi State!

And baseball is a club sport no one outside of the south gives a crap about, that's falling behind when it once was a leader. It's 17ing football season! To hell with baseball til the spring!

Poor ol' Mississippi State!Someone needs a history lesson. State almost won the CWS before LSU had even MADE the CWS...ever. LSU's first ever CWS was 1986.

Polk's teams choking away chances in the 80's kept us from really being a powerhouse.

1989- lost the Regional to a guy throwing 79 mph
1988- didnt even make the final of our own Regional
1987- 1-2 in our Regional
1986- missed Tourney
1985- Baseball gods got us in Omaha with the line drive off Morgan
1984- lost our Regional final to UNO
1983- Texas had to beat us twice to go to Omaha- and they did
1982- missed Tourney
1981- lost two 1 run games on Omaha
1980- missed Tourney
1979- 1-2 in Omaha

Then Skip left us in the dust with 10 CWS appearances and 5 National championships in 16 years. Almost only counts in horse shoes, hand grenades, and apparently Mississippi State athletics.
