Forbes showed some promising improvement early in camp, but recently got abused by the Jets. I think he has lost his confidence.

I didn't see this one coming. I wasn't shocked Banks, Abram and Dantzler didn't work out, they all had a significant flaw. Forbes's only flaw is his weight and that's not really been the issue. He's just been awful.

Hope he is managing his $ from his rookie contact wisely. Second contract and hanging around NFL a lengthy period of time is a real challenge.

Cam Dantzler actually looked pretty good early in his career, then just fell off the map and got in the doghouse. Meanwhile Martin Emerson has been exceptional. One of the issues with Johnthan Banks was lack of speed. Dantzler and Forbes are fast but thin. Emerson can handle physical wideouts. Abram is a headhunter in a league that doesn't allow headhunting anymore. And Abram isn't a great cover guy in a league that is now a passing league. Abram can come up from the safety spot and help defend the run, but that skill isn't as important in the NFL now as it was in 1980. And the way Abram flies around, it's easy to get burned, and it's easy to get dinged up in a league with a 17 game schedule.

good points on Abram...he'd been a beast 20-30 years ago. The game is just so different now.

All that and no mention of 6 time Pro-Bowler Darius Slay. The under-sized, less heralded while at State, 11 year pro still getting it for the Eagles.
