For you weather guys I?m supposed to be in Savannah the middle of next week. What are my odds of that happening and having power at the hotel. Thanks in advance

You'll be fine. This storm was a fat ass nothing burger compared to others we've had. The "historic amount of rain" shrank as much as when Costanza went swimming before Jerry's girlfriend saw him naked.

I should clarify this. Savannah got considerably more rain then we did here 80 miles to the south. They have had some flooding, and the inland rain has caused river flooding - which should crest this weekend.
As long as you are downtown you should be fine. Don't know how it will impact Hutchinson Island if you are headed over to the Convention Center. If you are out in the fringes like Skidaway or Thunderbolt, you may have standing water still. It looks like there are no major power outages

The hop-on-hop-off tour is a great way to see Savannah - especially if you have never been and especially in August. It's like living in a broiler here right now.
I first took my future bride to Savannah in 1994 - and we walked the length of Bull Street from River Street to Forsyth Park and back. That's 60 blocks round trip. It happened to be the hottest day ever recorded in Savannah up till that point. It melted the bottom of her Keds. I made up for that disaster by taking her to Cumberland Island two days later - where it proceeded to rain for 5 hours with no real shelter and we had not rain gear. Amazing that the woman married me.

Great places to see in Savannah - the Savannah Visitors Center is a terrific overview museum of the city's history. Battlefield Park next door is a critical location in the Revolutionary War Battle of Savannah - the Spring Hill Redoubt. It was actually located by an archaeologist friend of mine in the early 2000s. River Street, Wormsloe, Ft. Pulaski, Tybee Island, the Juliette Gordon Low House; Telfair Museum of Art; the Owens-Thomas House; The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist are all cool. As are the squares, the tons of restaurants, etc. Enjoy
