With this site so heavy with baseball threads at this time of year with FB about a month from kickoff, I wondered how do Elitedawgs members rate your love of MSU men's top three sports? Here i go:
#1 - Football. Dad carried me to my first game in 1963 and family has had season tickets for 55 or so years. I also played the game with some success in HS, (140 lb TE/WR and DE).
#2 - MBB. Watch all games on TV and go to many games the last few years with a friend. Some success in HS with high of 15 points in a game as SG. Quit at Christmas my SR year as I knew better than coach that I should be a starter instead of the 6th man. They went to state without me.***
#3 - Baseball. Watch all games possible on TV and have attended many games the last three years with a friend. Last played in 7th grade. When we moved back to home, my MS/HS did not have a baseball program. BTW, injured my arm trying to pitch and later couldn't throw it from 3rd to 1st afterward.
Love, watch and keepup with all MSU sports, men's and women's. Hail State!

1. Men's basketball. Nothing beats college basketball when we're good and the Hump is rocking. Jans is reviving this program and it's got the same feeling it did with Stans. Our MBB cigar boys are also far more organized and committed than our football and baseball networks.
2. Football. Football is king, but the inconsistency we've had at head coach make it tough sometimes. We had 9 years of Mullen followed by 3 coaches in the span of 5 years. Hopefully Lebby is here for a while and gives us stability.
3. Baseball. I love MSU baseball, but it's behind the other two for me. It's the least important sport nationally, even though it's the sport we are the most nationally relevant in. Hopefully, Lemon gets us back to competing in Omaha or we find a new coach that will.

1A: Football
1B: Baseball
Football only slightly edges out baseball because there are fewer games.
very huge gap (as in bandwagon fan gap)

Women's basketball
Baseball
I know the title says Mens sports but I threw Women's BB in. I loved playing Baseball growing up but it's always been hard for me to sit and watch. I do follow it though

Baseball: because it’s the ONLY sport with a natty. And been in the tournament and the playoffs ie. Omaha many times.
Basketball: same as baseball the team has been in the tournament many times and to a final four.
Used to be football: with today’s NIL, portal and now with the scholarship increase we do not have a chance to even come close to playing in the playoffs. Oh sure maybe a meaningless bowl game. The haves in football will only widen their winning ways with the have nots only getting the left overs. Can’t compete! And don’t wish to throw money at an athletic game that we have ZERO chance of winning. Maybe things will work out to be more fair but I doubt it.

Me too. But my interest level for all is much lower than it used to be because of this so called NIL. Just call it pay for play because NIL sounds ridiculous to me after what it has become.

Depends on the year and expectations. 2024-25 school year for me is: 1. Basketball 2. Football 3. Baseball
Love Jans and think we will be really solid this year. Think we will be a better team in baseball than football but interested in seeing what Lebby can do his first year and Lemonis teams just don?t get me excited.

Whichever one we're better at b/w the big 3.
Thing is, I'm watching football even when we're winning 3 games a year. Baseball we're hardly ever out of it completely, but with baseball and basketball, I do start to lose interest quicker when we suck.
I'm going to go:
1. Football
2. Basketball
3. Baseball
I'll watch football no matter what.
Basketball and baseball I can be more fair-weather when we start to suck. I've enjoyed watching baseball more than basketball, but we've also had way more success. I have to think if our baseball program had the same kind of success baseball had, that basketball would blow baseball out of the water.

1. Football
2. Baseball
3. Basketball
Went to my first football game I remember when MSU played Auburn when they had Scam Newton. A friend?s family had an extra ticket which was gifted to me from 13-19. Once I graduated and got a steady, good paying job, I got my own tickets. The family I went with has since retired from Davis Wade. I still remember those seat numbers and sit about ten rows from there. I plan to retain them until I can?t afford them or move too far away to attend.
Hail State!

That's what its been historically but I'm close to putting Baseball over Football just because I'm getting totally fed up with the lack of real competitiveness in college football overall and I know deep down that baseball is our only sport where we are capable of being a consistent national contender.

1. Baseball - Because we actually have a good program that competes.
2. Football - Pecking order never changes. And even if we have a good year, we are still treated like we barely better than Vandy. ::rodneydangerfield
3. Basketball - When we were consistently good I could get into it.
