A couple of programs don't belong on here even though they were historically top programs but have been less than relevant until recently.

1) UGA
2) Bama
3) OSU
4) Oregon
5) Texas
6) FSU
7) Oklahoma
8) Notre Dame
9) Michigan
10) A & M
11) LSU
12) Tennessee
13) Miami
14) Clemson
15) Penn State

A&M, Miami, and Penn St COMBINED have as many playoff appearances as Mississippi St. And we've been AS CLOSE as A&M and Penn St and FAR CLOSER than Miami has been. Those 3 are not in the same stratosphere as the other teams listed. Tennessee probably doesn't belong either although I think Heuplel has them on the right track.

Seems like it is more about media acknowledgement and name recognition than on field performance with these. If Notre Dame didn't play have of its schedule against the MSD school, they would be no where near this list. But.... they have made the playoffs due to that 50% soft schedule so credit them with winning when they should.

To clarify, that's his list of top 15 programs over the next 3 years so he expects Miami to make a jump. I would expect Clemson to fall out with Dabo and his NIL/portal work.

Ahh that makes more sense. A&M being on there is still a joke as is Miami. A&M fans whined, moaned, and complained about Mark Stoops only to go hire a less successful Mark Stoops. Miami is about to be left in the dust by FSU. And I completely agree on your Clemson point.

I think if we're going to say "X doesn't belong", we should also state who should replace them. Very easy to point out a programs flaws as if every alternative doesn't also have them

If I were to replace my 3 'iffy' ones, aTm, Miami and Clemson, it would be with:
Ole Miss - They lose a lot this year and have to hope 1) Kiffin stays 2) He keeps the high level portal going.
USC - They need to get it rolling again like Pete Carroll had it.They have money, location and Hollywood. Just need to make all 3 work together for them.
Utah - Solid, steady program with a good coach moving to a weaker conference.

He said top 15 programs for the next 3 or 5 years going forward. Not currently.
