Probably a good decision by him. I don't know how he'd handle their fan base. My guess is not well.

This! Baseball is just a totally different animal than football or basketball.

He's comfortable there and recruits the guys he wants, he enjoys it and the kids play hard for him.

So it's Starkville

Except the population of Bryan-College Station is 273,000 and Starkville is 24,000

Except the population of Bryan-College Station is 273,000 and Starkville is 24,000

Population (2019 estimate)
College Station - Bryan - 273,101
Starkville - 25, 653

Geography
B/CS - 2,123 sq mi
Starkville - 25.62 sq mi

Just not even close in those areas.

But hey. We got a Natty in baseball and they dont.

Yea I thought about doing Oktibbeha Co but that only added like 30K. B-CS is massive. It like most other SEC towns, dwarfs Starkville.

It's not the size of the town. It's how many Dollar Generals you can fit inside the city limits.

Wait! So we have 1000 people per square mile and they have 128 people per square mile.

I think we win!

Excellent news. Soon Lemonis will be the next name up, and I think Selmon will let him walk.

Well for him especially given his son is the starting SS and he has other sons in the pipeline (?25/?27) that will all likely play for him

At p4 school that doesnt happen likely

The current estimate from the census bureau for Jackson is 139k for additional perspective.

How sad is that! They should have made Kosciusko the capital city.

Well to be honest I don't think our fans would have a problem with the mandatory Bible study at all.

I know I wouldn't.

I would venture to guess that most baseball players in MLB are Christians as well so I don't think it would be a negative.

And as a baseball coach- Heefner is elite. The stats don't lie.

We would pretty much always have an elite pitching coach with him- this is the guy that developed Wes Johnson. And their hitting stats are really good too. If his hitting coach were to take over at DBU in a scenario where we hired Heefner we could and should call home Austin Cousino from Kentucky to be our hitting coach. His resume' is very similar to Cann's.

If Heefner were in the SEC I think pitchers would flock to us. He is one of the most respected pitching guys in the game.
