and where we are in today's college baseball in 2024. I'll use Tanner Allen as the example.

Tanner Allen was from Alabama and a very good college prospect. He wasnt bigtime but he was a good recruit. He was Top 200 nationally and a Top 10 Alabama HS player. LSU offered him but wasnt giving him much in the way of scholly. He and his family were going to have to pay thousands for him to go to LSU especially being an out of state guy. Remember- this was 2017.

We came along and offered more scholly money- AND it was cheaper for him to go to State for his parents compared to LSU. Tanner chose State thank goodness and he helped lead us to a title. He is etched in State history.

By todays rules now where college baseball players no longer pay for college? Tanner Allen is a purple and gold guy. This is where baseball has changed since 2022.

This is we are where we are now. Its not Lemon. It's just college baseball today. Fire him and get another guy. We will still be middle of the pack just like in football and basketball. Thats today's SEC

This is extremely bad for us. Baseball was our bread and butter

The fact you have us in the middle of the pack in football is being kind. Basketball maybe. We have a great group of $ guys w that. At least to keep us in the middle. I hope

As I recall, Cannizaro's personality went a long way into reeling him in (a relationship that had started when Cann worked at LSU). Does Lemonis have the personality to reel in recruits? Does that ever matter in the modern world?

Vitello was Schloss guy that built his TCU teams then Vitello was the guy that had UPig Top 5 under VH before he got the Tenn job. Lemon is ultimately responsible but GoTro and Parker are our most important recruiters. They will decide what we sign.

Suppose we're just gonna forget about Cannizaro. Guess he had nothing to do with it

Actually Jay Johnson wouldn't have recruited him and would have just tried to rely on guys out of the portal.

Why did this need its own thread?

Coach34 wants to keep expectations low so that when Lemonis has another middling season in 2025 he can argue to keep him.

Yeah it was Cann that convinced Allen’s parents to save thousands to send him to State. Got it

for snatching Tanner from him. It's usually the other way around.

?It was a tough decision,? he said. ?LSU seemed the most attractive to me. I liked the atmosphere there. They go to Omaha about every year. It?s not far from home, and I felt like most of the coaches and the staff wanted me there more than anyone else.?

Yep Cannizzaro had nothing to do with the switch - he likely offered him more than what Cohen

If Cannizzaro doesn?t come neither does Allen

Why can't both be true? Just admit you left out an obvious factor

I heard a rather lengthy interview with Nick Mingione on Marty and McGee radio show this past Saturday. I know it was all coach speak but he really spoke very well. He gave Cohen a lot of credit for being who he his as a head coach now. Mingione spoke about how he goes about coaching and the way he does it. He spoke about a list that he uses that sets the platform from everything he does.

You can not convince me that Univ. of Ky spends more on players than we do, can not convince me that Ky has better facilities for than we do, can not convince me they have better stadium to play at and for sure do not have have the fan base we do. But yet Mingione has steadily built a very good program.

Tony Vitello has done same at Univ. Of Tn. They don’t have crap for facilities and I’m pretty sure they don’t have more NIL for baseball than we do. And neither programs do not have a baseball tradition as we do. The fact that they built very competitive baseball programs from very little is what is even more amazing.

The common denominator in these two programs is their COACH and neither had been a head coach prior to their now head coaching jobs. Both of these coaches imo are overall way above Lemonis and way above Lemonis in work ethic. Yet we have a A.D. that allows this mediocrity and at least publicly doesn’t address this problem.

Image/Personality: Possible Recruiting visits***** - Stud player has back to back in-home visits with Vitello followed by Lemonis. Mom shouts back to her son from the kitchen, "Son ,are you about to wrap it up with "Superstar"? "Sitting star" is walking up the sidewalk to the door."***** At least they both have a NC to lay out there.

C34 now on payroll as head of Lemonis PR Dept. Gets paid most for starting a thread, a little less for posting on others' threads, and a lesser amount for posting multiple times as OP.******

I wonder if we could afford to keep that 21 team together in today’s baseball world.
