Very well thought out gift. Love the way they allocated the money and the things we will be able to do with it. Very much appreciated and some areas of need on campus will benefit greatly. As a teacher in rural Alabama, I am really intrigued by the pre K-12 that will be used for rural education research and will work in conjunction with MSU. A lot of good could come from that.

This should definitely help put us on the path toward fixing the "public school problems" in Starkville...

They can throw all the money they want at that. Thanks to the legislature the starkvile school district will be a disaster in time. Forcing consilidation wasn't a good thing for ssd. Period.
Eta I didn't see the quotes and don't know if that's what u were meaning or not.

Yeahhh -- you are entirely missing the boat on this one.

MSU's starting it's on K-12 research high school right next to campus...It is supposed to be the "lead" school to revolutionize the rural school system around MS and the country.

Essentially -- a high school ran by the college.

When you get into the Oil Business at a young age and invest in the right wells...the money can roll in.

Looks like he also worked with another successful Bulldog, Bobby Shackouls (sp) at Burlington Northern before starting Oasis Petroleum. Shackouls sold BN to ConocoPhillips for $36.5 billion in 2006 and now sits on the Board of Directors at Oasis Petroleum with, you guessed it, Thomas Nusz.

the oil and chemical businesses have been good to MSU, so many ties to some of the largest names out there.

Is this going to be like University Lab High in Baton Rogue? If so, it's about time.

OK, but if I allocated $3.3 million to athletics, I'd put it all on football assistants for multiple years and tell the school they'd have to keep it going when my $3.3 million ran out.
