Article mentions all the players in the portal. I guess when they are all there for money this is what you get. They all want their checks

I think they are struggling with the portal because there is pressure to win there now. So they're having to cut a lot of guys to try to replace them with guys from the portal.
I know it worked for them with Skenes and Tommy White but I'm just not sold on it being sustainable even for them. People forget that Thatcher Hurd and Christian Little were not the massive impact guys they expected even though Hurd got hot for them in Omaha.

These cats are all rejects. If you are not good at LSU, you probably suck.
They are being thrown out and they know it. They wore LSU uniforms while Skenes won a National Championship, but they were basically cheerleaders.
If not for Gage Jump and Holman, LSU would have finished 8-22 in the SEC.
So these cats are like pulling struggling players from Missouri.

Even said there's a couple of guys there that we could use. I'd like to see what Parker could do with Moffett. He's a MS kid and has good stuff.

Moffett probably not going to happen. I?m hearing multiple things on him and none of them are about him coming to State.

Why of course not. Kiffin is called the portal king. Our baseball coach is the portal queen.

There is definitely a societal / culture problem in the city Baton Rouge. It has become a horrid place to live or visit. I know some hard core lifelong LSU fans who said they are not comfortable going to the games any more. There has been one substantial ward ( neighborhood ) is attempting to secede from the city. There are some of the players regardless of talent don't want to live in that community. Used to be a super place to visit or live.

Lemonis is focusing on the portal as soon as he gets back from 30A.

the truth is that St. George area was never a part of the city of BR, but rather an unincorporated area that was paying taxes that were being diverted to the city coffers with no services being rendered in return. They had voted several years ago t incorporate but the previous worthless governor stonewalled the process. Their court case was finally heard by the state supreme court and the supreme court has allowed the incorporation to proceed. There are multiple areas in BR that are gang invested and unsafe, LSU is bounded on the north and to a lesser degree to the southwest by these terrible areas. I have lived here since graduation from MSU and look forward to putting this area in the rear view in a few more years. The only hope is that BR elects a competent mayor in the next election as the present one has been an absolute shitshow.

It really is sad what happened to BR. Do not know the whole story but from what I was told, this all started after Katrina and it has only gotten worse and worse each and every year since.

BR had a good guy as mayor when Katrina hit, he knew the issues that are endemic to NOLA and wanted the buses from there to keep rolling westward. Unfortunately he couldn't control where they settled and BR's murder rates doubled the year after Katrina and have been going upward since then. There are gang infested areas that are totally unsafe after dark, some border LSU. The current mayor is incompetent and there is a lot of push to get her out in the next election, we shall see. I don't see BR recovering as there is tremendous wealth flight from the city, you either live in a really nice neighborhood or move to the adjoining parishes with good police.

Kind of what I've heard. Sounds like that the big money finally just gave up and said screw it, we're moving to the burbs.
