Cade Smith continues to be the best pitcher in Tampa:

5 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 2 BB, 11 K, 23 whiffs

His slider was insane. 15 whiffs on 19 swings. 50 CSW%.

His ERA is down to 2.85 in 53.2 innings with 68 strikeouts.

He should be in Hudson Valley sooner than later.

Cade is one driven motivated young man, he is starting to live his dream. His goals are much higher than minor league baseball. The thing I like about him and always saw, it's his breaking ball, throws it for strikes on any count. It was somewhat lacking his soph and jr year, i think the emphasis of throwing 95 and above is bad in many ways. Nothing wrong for those that can but give me a guy who throws strikes down and away low in the zone. I think the pitching/catcher camp he attended in really got him back to what he does best.
