Corbin makes over $2MM per at 62 years old.

Last 3 seasons hasnt made it out of a Regional with losing SEC records 2 of those 3.

do they really care at Vandy? Bigger question.

NIL killed Vandy. It took away their only real advantage. I mean they got Nashville, which is cool to recruit off of. But Nashville PLUS free school when no one else could give that is a lot less enticing now that everyone can give it and has better NIL funds than Vandy. Nashville can only recruit so much for them.

Those schools will be making a change sooner rather than later down the line

It probably won't for a while because Vanderbilt doesn't have fans who care.

But if he had that same record at a large state school that cares about baseball, then his seat would be warm right now.

If Corbin has an underperforming SEC record and doesn?t make a super next year I think his seat starts to get warm but it?s not like he made the CWS in 2021 and then his team fell off a cliff. They?ve been middle of the road SEC but haven?t shown up in regionals.

Corbin has at least 2 years left at Vandy bare minimum. His previous performances earn him more leeway than Lemonis.

It's just the new era, here today, gone tomorrow. Times aren't the same.

He'll probably retire in a couple years and stay on in some capacity with the school.

I think Corbin is their Polk, he can retire and name a successor. Does Vandy have a sports program that remotely compares to Corbin's baseball.

Worst thing the Vandy fans can do is whistle more. Then he would quit, like any normal human.

Arkansas is the job I believe Vitello is waiting on. I think that would be one of the few he would leave TN for. He always mentions DVH in interviews.

What's crazy is that Arkansas has had two baseball coaches since 1970. Only two.

Inflated salaries and huge buyouts in SEC baseball make it very hard to move on from veteran coaches who have had success. See OM and us to a degree. As much as we love baseball, it makes little to no $, enen in the SEC. In fact, college hockey is #3 revenue producer in college sports ahead of baseball. With open payments and backpay to 2016 perhaps coming in 2025 with an estimated cost of $20 million per school, many non-revenue sports may be in trouble for men and women's sports. The protections and status of Title Nine is also a question. College sports as many of us knew it is gone.

Vandy is now "whistling past their graveyard" in baseball. NIL has killed the advantages they had on "Hope" scholarships or whatever they called them and used to an unfair advantage. Most of today's mercenary players could care less about the prestige of a vandy degree. Heck, their transcript may now have 6 or so $tops on their academic journey to tht degee, if they stay long enough to get one. Does progress toward a degree or academic standing even matter anymore in college sports?

Except Corbin brought home the hardware twice. His 2011-2021 run was crazy, in no way can you mention Polk and Corbin in the same breath.

Unfortunately fan apathy with professional sports is beginning to leach into the college level.

Polk did name his first successor. Remember, he brought back Pat McMahon from ODU to be his successor. We just didn't let him do it the 2nd time.

Also, BYRNE. THERE IS NO S

Just like there's no S in Mullen, Parson, Stephen, Lebby, Power, or any other name our fans have tried to put an extra S on through the years.

Oh sure there is. We've been calling them Donnie Mullins and Scoot Strickins for years now. ****

Well he is never going to be what he once was ever again. His gigantic advantage has been lost due to NIL. He cannot have 9 SEC starting pitchers with 8 more quality guys on the roster at the same time anymore. That talent is now being bought up by other schools.

I don?t really see Arkansas forcing Van Horn out either though.

He seems like the type who will decide to retire when he realizes he?s not getting the job done anymore honestly.

Nooooooooooo- neither made a Regional Final. Candy went 2 & Que losing to High Point. Had that happened to us the villagers would have pitchforks out

Right. Corbin underachieved more than Polk if you look at the talent he had. He?s the goat clearly. At least Skip made it payoff.
